If you see this CD at the check out counter while shopping this holiday season, grab it up...grab several(they're not very expensive) and pass them out to friends and co-workers. Not only will you be getting over an hour's worth of some of song's best classic artists to serenade you with the sounds of the season, but bought new, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Toys For Tots(and other Children's Charities).
The editorial review here lists all 30 tracks in the correct order. The songs range from just under a minute to a lovely piano rendition of "Ave Maria"(Liberace) of about 3:30. The first 15 songs are vocals by some of the greats. Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Lou Monte, Gene Autry, Patti LaBelle, Mahalia Jackson, Billy Vaughn, and a duet from Crosby and Sinatra. The second half are beautiful instrumentals, most by the Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra and a lovely rendition of "What Child Is" This by the United Orchestra.
I wasn't expecting much in the way of sound quality, some of these recordings are pretty old, but was surprised by how clear they sounded. The studio is Trans World Entertainment and is made in Holland.
From The Angels Of Music, To The Angels Of The World...a simple but worthwhile gift to needy children, and a gift of wonderful holiday entertainment for yourself as well.
