This isn't a very exciting toy, but the kids love it and pull them out all the time (we have 2). It fits fine in one hand of our 2 year old, and the baby (9 months) can hold it as well. Don't expect crazy or funny sounds to come out of the microphone, more just like an echoing sound, but for when the kids are 'performing' for us, or singing along to the TV or stereo, they like to use it. It makes them feel like they have a real microphone, so it makes them happy - which is great for me!

Very clever invention. All the Adults wanted to play with it though it was a gift for a 2 1/2 year old. Now he walks around saying "echo, echo" into it all the time. The Mic is a bit bigger than I expected.

One of the most amazing inventions ever. If you brought this to a recording studio in the 50's they would think you were from the future. A handheld plate reverb with no power required? Insane! It would be from the future if you were in the 50's now that I think about it, but still! Come on.

We bought the cheaper one made by the same company, the one that says "colors may vary". Well our 2 year old son got a pink one in the mail! He loved it so much and it worked so good, I thought what the heck, spend a little more to get one that looks more realistic. As this one looks a lot better (specially in pictures) than the pink one, it doesn't work as good. Funny because their made by the same company! Consider price and color over functionality.

I wanted a microphone that was like one my younger brother had as a kid- and this is a perfect match. It does what every other microphone like this does- it echoes and does not require batteries. My son thinks it is hilarious.

My one year old is scared of this, but my husband and I love it!! The echo is a neat idea.

The microphone did exactly what the advertisement stated. It created an echo effect and does not require batteries. Unfortunately, even though I knew this fact, it was still very "underwhelming." I don't think my 2 year old toddler played with it 30 seconds. My advise is that your child will either love it or not. Just ask yourself..."is the price cheap enough to roll the dice on this one?"

I was lookibg for a mic that echoes like sid the science kid & it did not do it at all. My sob still olays with it though, he just likes to sing so it serves it purpose.
