My 8 year old daughter loved receiving this as a Christmas gift. The one thing that would make this product better is if it were wireless. Good product for the price overall.

The doorbell is cute and my daughter loved it at first! This thing goes off by us just walking in the room. It freaks her out now because it will go off at night when we are going into her room for bed. If it didn't do that it would be a nice accessory to her room.

My daughter loves this. The two parts - the ringer and the button are connected by a wire, which is a pain, but I don't know how you get away from this. All the doorbells I reviewed had a wire. This one is cute - matches my daughter's bedroom. We hung the ringer behind her door and the wire goes through the crack in the door. The button has a sticky back so it plugs right on to the door. The wire is draped across the front of the door, but my daughter doesn't mind. It fits its purpose.

This does not make the doorbell sound I was hoping for. Instead of a lilting sound perhaps suggestive of a butterfly, and instead of the usual "ding-dong" sound where the first note is higher than the second - it's rather blaring. It's not so bad it makes me cringe and want to rip it off the wall, but if you get this, let's hope you don't have a kid who REALLY loves it and pushes the button continually. But all that said, my kid loves pretending she is a visitor coming over to visit me, or vice-versa. I also wish I would have gone for the wireless one.

I was a little hesitant to purchase this item, with no product pictures available. We had looked at similar products at a store. Purchased item and have been satisfied with it. No issues to date. Kids love it.

Ok, with two small kids and several adoring grandparents, we've had our share of "cute," noisy toys. This doorbell takes the cake. My 5 year old daughter loves it--that is, except when it's not being mysteriously triggered to ring in the middle of the night. The rest of the family hates it. It is very loud and obnoxious. There's no volume button to turn it down so if you're kind enough to let the kids play with it, anyone within the house has to put up with the "bell". And bell it isn't. It's the kind of ring you hear in a large commercial store when you walk through the entrance--electronic, piercing, and six beats of it. Moreover, it seems to have its own mind. The wire that connects (that's right, it's not remote) the door bell button to the unit is highly susceptible to motion and static electricity. Often when I walk through my daughter's door, I trigger it and it rings--no button pressing needed! Charming. This is especially annoying when she's just fallen asleep or if it is in the middle of the night and I'm checking on her while she's asleep and battling bronchitis (our most recent experience with its unprovoked ringing). As there's no on-off switch, so one must remember to find that little philips head screwdriver, unscrew the battery panel, and take out the batteries after every use, lest the crazy thing go off inexplicably yet again. In fact, I'm prompted to write this review at 5 in the morning bc I just heard the blasted unit go off across the house in my daughter's room, and I'm the only one awake! So today, I have that unpleasant task every parent hates: I'm going to take a beloved toy away from my child. Let me save you this trouble: Just don't buy it!

Bought these for my 2 and almost 5 year old girls for christmas. It's a wonderful idea and very cute, paired this with telephones that work like walkie talkies and they have their own little "appartments." I whole heartedly agree that the doorbell chime is annoying and loud, not quite what I had hoped it would sound like. When you consider the intended user however they don't seem to mind one bit. With the door closed it does make it fun as the little tike on the outside pressing the button can hear it just fine.Of greater concern to me is that it doesn't light up the way they said it would. It did on Day One - tried new batteries but didn't make a difference. To me this is a major inconvenience as it was an item purchased online and the exchange for this feature is too much of a hassel. Would be great if they had a volume control and chime selection options - of course the cost of doing this might inflate the price tag too much to make it a marketable item. |
