This is the cutest top I've ever seen. It makes realistic train sounds and the train crossing gate lifts for the train to pass. I have given this toy to several different children as a gift. It is loud, and therefore, was a bit scary for a very young child (six months), but it is very appropriate for an older baby or toddler. The parent of course will have to do the pumping, but a two or three year old should be able to do it on their own.

What can you say? The manufacturer delivers this toy exactly as advertised. This is a safe, colorful, sturdy, stimulating toy that my son loves.

I have a toddler who has loved this toy since we brought it home (8 mos), he used to just watch it. Now he is able to play with it! This is one of the few toys that ALWAYS comes out of the toy box. All the children that come over to play also seem to enjoy it! Very sturdy, interactive, good motor skill development, the noise isnt annoying....GREAT TOY!

My two year old twins are really into tops right now, so I thought they would love this. After pumping the top to full capacity and letting it stand on it's own, the train will spin VERY slowly around the track only 1 and 1/2 turns before it stops and the sound effects keep going while nothing moves. If you want to watch the entire top spin, you must hold it up off the ground by the top of the pumper. My kids are very frustrated that it does not work like a traditional top. If the train would spin faster and longer, they might be able to play with it. Maybe the one I got is broken? It came with no instructions, which a top should not need, and all of the writing on the box is in German. Since my kids who love tops want nothing to do with it, I can only give it one star.

This top is awesome! It really does make the train sound, and the little gate goes up so that the train can clear the gate on one side of the top, and the gate goes down on the "street" side so no cars will enter. I teach in high school and my students (and other staff) love to pump it up to watch it.

It is a great toy. The train makes a very realistic sound and my child likes to play with it. It also lets him learn to coordinate his hands better trying to start the spinning.

Update: three years later and it doesn't make a sound of a chugging train anymore.

This fascinated both my one and my four year old boys. It makes train sounds and little things happen as the train goes around. Seems sturdy and well designed.

My grandson (9 months old) loves the toy train. It not only spins but also makes real train sounds. I would recommend this toy. I'm not sure how durable it would be for an older child though. He is too young to make it spin himself but he loves watching and listening to it.

Our 18 month old really likes this toy. Her face lights up whenever we play with it. The only struggle we have is that the spinner mechanism takes a bit more strength and balance combo than she can provide on her own so a big sister or adult has to help when she plays with it. Still, we are pleased with this fun toy.

I purchased the Train Sound Top for my 3-year old daughter, because she loves trains and I thought she might think this is cute. Her reaction was much better than I expected. She spins it herself every day, and the smile on her face each time was well worth the purchase!
