I don't blame the packaging - I blame the product.

I have given this grabber claw to five different kids (a girl age 2 1/2, a boy age 3, two boys age 4, and a boy age 5), and they all love it. In fact, I eventually bought my son a 2nd one because he wanted one for each hand! (I've even used it to reach something that fell behind the couch.) Makes a nice addition to a birthday gift. It's a great bit of simple fun for a very reasonable price.

I purchased one of these long ago, when I was an ironic 20-something.

Who would have guessed that 25 years later I'd be lending it to my life partner who is using it while she heals from her total hip replacement surgery, comma, left. Soon she'll be allowed to bend all the way to the floor and touch her toes again... until then, she is using ROBOT CLAW to pick up stray objects from the floor, and bottles and teaboxes and cans from the lower shelf of the pantry.

This is no toy! This is an ironic hipster prosthetic aid. Durable, too.

My son insisted he wanted a "robotic arm" for his birthday like the one his friend got. This was his favorite present! He uses it as fireman's equipment, a carpenter's tool, he grabs toys from under the bed, reaches things from high shelves, he chases his little brother with it. The claw does make a ratchet sound, but it's not nearly as annoying as many of the "noise toys" out there.

Best 5 bucks we've spent on a toy in a long time.

I'm buying two more of these right away in case I can't find one again (after having our original for over two years it's been taped and re-taped from much use)...we've learned that leaving home without our beloved, "grabber grabber" in the car is a bad idea...my 4-year old son can pick up even the smallest pebble and different shaped toys from the car floor where I can't reach...has "rescued" his sister's toys dropped on the floor too...INVALUABLE! Can't say enough good things about this toy!

My son (4 yrs old) loves this toy! He hasn't put it down since he got it. His preschool has one and all the kids have to take turns to play with it. That is how we found out about it to begin with.

How much can you say about a grabber, really? We've got two (this one and the one that's different colors and sold as a "Galaxy Grabber") so when friends come over there is no fighting over who gets the grabber. My two year old loves them - he loves playing with them and seeing what he can grab, oftentimes using both at the same time. I like them for the occasional sock stuck behind the dryer. They're stury, durable, and makes a fun ratcheting sound. What more could you ask for in a grabber?!

We got this grabber toy for my son a few years ago when he was about 3 years old. He loved it. I have found that it works great in our minivan. Many times my kids drop things while we drive, or need to retrieve something sitting on the floor, but they can't reach it while buckled up. This grabber helps the kids (and me) reach those items. It is great. I store it just behind the driver's seat on the floor. It is out of the way, but I can still reach it while I drive, and can hand it to anyone in the car if they need it. I am buying a second one right now so I can store it in my kitchen to reach items on the top shelves of my kitchen cupboards.

I almost didn't buy this item, but my spouse wanted me to get it for my son's three year birthday party. I'm glad I did. This toy is solidly built and was played with by almost everyone at the party. They had fun chasing each other with it. The only kids who couldn't operate it were the smaller two year olds because they could not grip the trigger hard enough. Otherwise, it was a hit. My son still plays with it and from time to time it does come in handy when you drop a sock or two behind the laundry machine... :)
