I got this for my 2 1/2 yo daughter for Christmas, and she loved it. She insisted on carting it everywhere we went Christmas Day, and of all the stuff she got, this is her favorite. The only problem with it is one of the doors (the orange one) tends to fall off, although it is easy to put back on, it could be easily lost. The plastic does seem to be brittle, but it hasn't cracked or anything. This is a fun, educational toy, and I recommend it. I needed something challenging for my daughter, because all her old toys were boring for her. Even with a couple of design flaws, it is still great for little ones. My 1 yo also likes playing with the keys, but as some of the blocks are on the small side, I don't let her play with those yet. Also, keep in mind that there are 12 different shaped holes and only 1 block per shape. So, 12 holes, 12 blocks.

Super preschool toy! November 18, 2007
Kids from ages 2-1/2 to 5 love this toy! Each door has its own color- and shape- coded key. The locks are too advanced for those without good small-motor skills but the block sorter can be used while the key skills are developed. Plastic seems a bit brittle but I haven't had any cracks or breaks even after lots of play by multiple children. Highly recommended.

First, I order this toy from ToysNGamesEtc. The item came and there were 4 shapes with the same color instead of the normal 2 shape per color as depicted. Also, the shape of the keys did not match the color of the doors. And the lock of the doors did not match the shape of the door either. Needless to say, I returned the item since the whole point of this toy was for the shapes and colors to match for each component - door, lock, key, shapes. My daughter seemed to like the toy though - she fussed when we were repackaging it to return - so I decided to try again with a different vendor and see if I can get one that had matching colors/shapes. This time I bought from Diana Toy Store and it was exactly as depicted in the description. Everything was great. :) It turns out that the toy is a bit too difficult for my daughter - she is only 1.5 yrs old - but she has fun with the keys and can unlock the doors if I tell her which key to use. Overall a good buy - and it seems like it would be very educational and fun once she gets a bit older.

good toy for 2&1/2 years +
I got this for my almost 18 month old but it's still too challenging. The shapes will only fit in one direction and must be facing right side up--a complex task. Read more

Great toy with one big caveat
Love this toy - nice multi-faceted toy that tests a number of skills. I just have one caveat: why on earth did they have the locks in the opposite direction of standard locks? Read more

A fun toy but requires great fine-motor dexterity to place the keys in each hole. The holes are very small. Read more

Nice but pricey
Very nice toy. My 2 year old still has problem opening the doors so I help him, but otherwise it is fun for him to match the shapes and to discover them later behind the doors. Read more
