I bought this for my 4 year old son, in the hopes that we could do a fun learning project together. I tried 20oz bottles to start-thinking that they would be easier for him to handle on his own. Leaked. Tried 2L bottles. Leaked. Tried different shaped bottles. Leaked. Tried less water. Leaked. I am seriously disappointed that this did not work properly. I will add that if it HAD worked properly, I would have given this a 5 star glowing review.

I have a child obsessed with the tornado tube at school..and at the science museum. This product leaked every time we tried to use it. I strongly recommend a different brand.

While these aren't meant to be the most durable things in the world, these things leaked like nobody's business (both of them I purchased) THE FIRST USE. I wouldn't recommend these.

Great product if you use plumber's tape!,

I also had problems with the product leaking, but I think it had more to do with the shape of the 2 liter bottle rims. However, when I added plumbers tape to the tops of the 2 liter bottles, it sealed the gaps and worked perfectly. I think this is a great product that will provide hours of entertainment for your child(ren). We added glitter and food coloring to enhance the effect. Next time, I will try 2 oz. of colored lamp oil.

We bought this for our 3.5 yo because I remember using them when I taught preschool. We must have either had a different brand or these have gone way downhill in the last five years. I'm SO GLAD I didn't let my son take this into the carpeted dining room or living room as we'd filled it with water and red food coloring. It leaked EVERYWHERE! I had a puddle of red water on my kitchen floor. Had it worked correctly and not leaked I would have given it five stars.

It's worth buying it especially when you want to demonstrate to your kids how tornado and cyclone look like. The kids will easily get it after the demonstration.
