This product reminds me of a toy that is given out as a promotional gift item. The kids enjoyed it while it lasted.

4.0 out of 5 stars Calming Device for Autism, May 15, 2010

I bought a similar fan to this one when I was having trouble transitioning my autistic son, then 3, from place to place. What worked best: IT SPINS! IT LIGHTS UP! and a nice COOL BREEZE......ahhhh....child calms down quickly. For those reasons this was a toy worth having around. The quick calming or use as a reward was a necessity every time I left the house. He's since outgrown it but mine lasted a really long time. The lights weren't on the fan blades like this one shown and maybe that has something to do with short circuiting.

1.0 out of 5 stars Neat, but poorly made, April 17, 2010

We bought this for our kids. They really liked the colors and patterns. However it stopped changing patterns within about 10 minutes and then some lights went out a short while later. Eventually a single LED was left working. This was all within the first hour of them playing with it. They weren't even being rough with it. We tried changing out the batteries, but that did not resolve the problems.
