A fun science toy.
AndyR
The balance on the worse one is so bad that as it spins down the wobble gets so extreme that it collides with the stand, jumps off and rolls off the table.
Greywood
Seems very well balanced.

I've used others that were rock solid. This one is very wobbly, unbalanced. It will degrade to a point where it will fly off the stand. Look for better quality, this one is crap.

Purchased for use in my high school classroom.
The rotational portion broke within minutes. It simply fell on the carpet.

Using tape we repaired it, and it's still going strong.

Very popular with students.

It does work. But I accidentally dropped the floating part, and it split in 2. I had to put the magnets back in and super glue it back together. Good example of how super trains work, due to magnetic repulsion.

A coworker of mine had one of these on his desk and I was constantly dropping by to give it a spin and go for the "office record." Well, the little glass piece on his broke off, rendering the thing useless. So I found this one here on Amazon and bought three of them, one of which I gave to him. I found out quickly that these cheaper ones are not nearly as good as the one he had, though they look almost identical. Basically the only pro is the price.

The cons:

- One of the ones I received had fallen apart inside the box, so it never got used

- The other two were poorly balanced, so much so that right before it stops spinning, it gets really wobbly and then falls off of the base

- Does not spin nearly as long as my coworker's did (he just took the glass piece from the one I gave him and used it in his better quality levitator)

Cheap quality, not centered well so it always wobbles. It fell of the desk onto carpet and split in half. Very cheap quality. Save your money. Trust me.

I originally bought this for my teenage son, who has Aspergers and loves little oddities that do "different" things. When I gave this to him, he was immediately intrigued, and ended up researching magnetic polarity online for hours to figure out how this thing worked. What was intended to be a "fun gadget" turned out to be an educational two for. Not bad... :)

I just got this in the mail. Its a little Christmas gift for my wife. She is a science teacher and loves little toys like these. I took it out of the box to check it out. Works great. Very cool toy. Actually spins for a good amount of time. It will be a cool addition to her collection of desk toys. Seems fragile so don't spin it too hard or it will just fall and break. But for about 10 bucks, it is totally worth it.

It doesn't wobble for me. You just have to spin it carefully, since it's levitating.
Awesome toy. Must have for any computer desk! BUY IT WITHOUT HESISTATION!!!
