Product Description

Editorial Review

Eat your heart out, Isaac Newton. Although it is only a simple mobile--in fact, a single piece of plastic attached to an (included) nylon filament string--the Spectra-Arc is such an elegant and enchanting toy that even an adult (even your favorite executive) might enjoy receiving one. A banana-shaped arc of translucent acrylic, with a triangular cross-section, it whirls on its string and casts rainbows around the room like confetti. For added fun at nighttime, you can shine a flashlight through it. Potentially educational, but mainly just pretty. --Richard Farr

From the Manufacturer

The 13" Spectra-Arc is a unique approach to the classic prism. It separates light and casts it into a curved spectrum, projecting a rainbow on your wall. For ages 6 to adult.

5.0 out of 5 stars Huge rainbow in your home!, November 20, 2007

This prism, if hung or placed in direct sunlight, casts a big rainbow on the opposite wall. We have enjoyed ours immensely. No other prism we have found makes half as nice a display. The newer model is hollow and not as sturdy as the old solid bar from the 70s, but the rainbow it makes is just as good. If it becomes available, I'll buy one for myself and several as gifts.

My wife bought this piece of junk for my kids room, and I can't believe she wasted so much money for a piece of uninteresting plastic.
