5.0 out of 5 stars Loud but lovable
My 18 month son fell in love with this truck at the playground, so I recently purchased it for him and for my twin three year old nephews. My nephews are currently sleeping with these trucks in their bed at night. My son loves to push the buttons and hear the loud rock music. My 18 month son fell in love with this truck at the playground, so I recently purchased it for him and for my twin three year old nephews. My nephews are currently sleeping with these trucks in their bed at night. My son loves to push the buttons and hear the loud rock music. The music is very loud, and can be unnerving to parents, however it is the only toy to which he returns time and time again. When I gave the trucks to my twin nephews, even the girls at the party were playing with them. Bottom line is these trucks are very loud, and not the least bit educational, but your little boys will probably love them and they are not too expensive. Perfect present for a three year old boy, whose parents you slightly dislike!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very fun. Very loud., October 8, 2005

This truck is very fun. There are buttons on the back that you can push that make noises. Each button does something different (One makes the car go forward, one plays music etc. )

It is a sturdy toy. My children ages 6,4, and 2 have all enjoyed playing with this toy. It is sturdy and puts up with a kid leaning on it as they push it across the floor.

This toy is well played with in our home.

The only draw back of this toy that I can see is that it is very very loud. The music is loud. There is no off and on button. There is no volume button.

If you enjoy toys that foster exploration of the world around you and creative play this is a good toy for that. If you enjoy toys, as I do, that do more than have a button to push or are quiet, you might think again before buying this toy. We enjoy it though and I'd probably buy it again.

Enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Toy!, July 2, 2005

This toy is fantastic - I have 4 boys (2, 3, 6, & 10) and this is definately a toy they return to often. It is plenty sturdy for the little ones to lean on while they run and push it across the floor. And this toy can put up with the abuse it takes.

I believe the TV ad the review below saw was for the Remote Control Monster Trucks - which are fabulous for 5+.

Purchased for a 2 year old. May be more appropriate for 3-4 year old. Check the dimensions. This thing is big. No sharp edges on mine. Note that this is semi-powered meaning 2 of the 4 buttons on top make the truck move. One button engages (loud) sound effects, rocks the truck fore and aft, and then moves it forward approx. 8 feet. One button does the opposite, i.e. backward. The other 2 buttons engage sound effects and then either sound horn or flash headlights. Yes, there is a mute button on the bottom of the truck. Because the truck is semi-powered the gear train is always engaged so when junior moves the truck manually there is some resistance. No biggie in general but if the intent is to give it a push and watch is scoot across the floor, well, not going to happen. We have no need for the antics or sound. Mute switch kills the sound. Will try to disengage the drive train so the truck can be sent across the room with one push. Do not remember what type/size/number of batteries it uses.

This was a present for my 4 yr old son but his little 19 month old sister loves it too. He pushes it around the house and she dances to the music.

My two year old son LOVES this toy! It was the very first thing he opened on Christmas morning and we could not get him to open another present! All he wanted to do is play with his new monster truck. It keeps him entertained for hours and seems pretty durable. It withstands him leaning his weight on it while pushing it around the floor. I thought it was a tad expensive, but to see the joy my son gets from it makes it well worth it.

My grandson lit up like a Christmas tree when he got this truck! The truck is made very well and I would highly recommend buying it. The transaction with the seller was awesome, delivery and packaging were also. This is a toy well loved and will be played with for a long time! Thank you.

I paid $40 for a toy that arrived with a $12.99 price tag intact. It wasnt worth $12.99. I purchased this for a charity secret santa. The young boy asked for a monster truck. I hope he is not disappointed but I am. You can buy a better toy at a pharmacy or convenience store.
