3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good video
I found this video to be average: not super great, not bad at all. It is extremely true to Pilates, but modified. It is a nice simple workout, but can get a little boring at times. If you regularly do Pilates, this video is a great alternative while pregnant. Doesn't do much for arms.

This new found strength helped me to cope with my ever changing body. It improved my posture and flexibility. I was able to continue with the DVD until the delivery of the baby. After giving birth with a caesarean delivery, I was surprised how great I felt. I swear it was from the core strength and overall conditioning I had developed from the Pregnancy System."

I bought this for my wife, who is a fan of Callanetics, pilates, yoga, etc. She enjoyed the workout, because it retains elements of her favorite exercises but modifies or omits the parts that would be difficult or detrimental during pregnancy.

During her first time watching the video, I heard her say "Wow, that feels really good" several times, even to some of the exercises that looked a little bit pointless to me. This is definitely tailored to the pregnant woman, but I found that I was able to see some benefit from most of the exercises as well (I should point out that I reserve exercise for special occasions).

I especially like the partner-assisted workout, as it gave me a chance to help my wife with some range-of-motion exercises. I also liked the relaxed atmosphere and home setting. It feels professionally done, but not sterile.

5.0 out of 5 stars The exercise video for women who don't excercise., March 14, 2006
I think I am fairly healthy, I walk to work everyday and I am not overweight but I would NEVER go to the gym. I don't like to "workout" but I wanted my baby to be healthy. I picked this video after trying several from the library. I put it in just to see what it was like. The woman leading it was so friendly and encouraging that I thought "I could do that" and before I knew it I was no longer sitting on the couch watching but actually finishing the workout. I didn't get all sweaty; there is no hoping around or kicking your legs in the air. It focuses mainly on stretching and toning, parts of it I still can't do fully but I keep working on it. I felt very safe the whole time, never wobbly or like I might fall. I would highly recommend this to any pregnant women looking for a workout video.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best on the Market!, April 30, 2006
I found this Video very well paced and Tracey cued like a true proffessional. The Video was split in to four sections, CORE, Lower Body, upper body and a section where Dad can join for some assisted stretches which was a nice bonus!
This work out was very well modified for different trimesters and great for post natal.
I have brought other Pregnancy tapes but this is by far the best due to it's variations of Pilates, Yoga and weight training.
I can't wait to do more of Tracey's Tapes....she's very inspirational and charming with her beautiful English accent.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite!, August 17, 2006

I have 3 pre-natal DVDs and this is by far my favorite. I don't know whether it is Tracey's Australian accent or merely the moves. I find her endearing so she is not as annoying as some of the other hosts and I like that her husband is a Physical Therapist.

As someone who had piriformis/sciatic problems even before pregnancy, some of her stretches feel fantastic and I find myself referring to the DVD when I feel a little tight. My only wish would be for her to hold some of the stretches longer (like the Mermaid). Most PTs will tell you to hold for at least 30 seconds.

I also like that she is modification friendly (but then again, most of the DVDs seem to be). If you can't fit your belly into a stretch or position, she shows you how to modify.

I like this DVD enough that I look forward to using it when I rotate my library!

5.0 out of 5 stars I tried them ALL and this one takes the cake, December 18, 2008

I bought 13 pregnancy workout DVDs when I found out I was pregnant. I tested them all and this one is the BEST one. I am a semi-hard workout girl before I started this (I was very familiar with pilates and yoga and at one point had been doing pilates 2/week for a year, a couple years before pregnancy).
She's not too hard and not too easy, she has modifications for all levels and you generally just feel great doing her workout.
5-stars! Great job!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this work out!, October 11, 2007
By
This review is from: Tracey Mallett's 3 in 1 Pregnancy System (DVD)

I love this work out! The first time I did it I was impressed how normal and pregnant Tracey looked...She didn't looke like a twiggy model with a basketball belly, she looked like a real pregnant woman! REFRESHING! I love how calm and conversational she is through out the program. I appreciated how she reminded me to listen to MY body...Not to worry about the abilites of the people on the DVD but to do what I could do. That made me feel so good!

I found the work out to be challenging, but for the most part do-able.

I did find that as my pregnnacy has progressed, the ab work has become uncomfortable or impossible for me to do. I'm 28 weeks and no matter how I stack the pillows I can't recline on my back to do the "hundred" and leg extension exercises.

But I ESPECIALLY love the "Partnered Flexibility" segment! My husband and I have been doing that about 3 or 4 nights a week right before I go to bed...I can't tell you how much it helps me sleep. So far no nasty leg cramps waking me up!
And my husband loves being able to do some thing to help me with the pregnancy. That 10 minutes before bed, has definitely been a neat way for us to bond as a couple and with our baby.

When ever I hear of any of my preggo friends complain about how uncomfortable they are at night, I suggest this work out! It has definitely helped me sleep better! :0)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for those with Back/Sciatica Problems, January 31, 2009
This review is from: Tracey Mallett's 3 in 1 Pregnancy System (DVD)
I bought this DVD in my second trimester. It is no impact exercising. I suffer from lower back, sciatica and knee problems. Even walking aggravates my back while pregnant. This is the only workout I can do while pregnant. I do it six days a week and find it provides great relief for my sciatica, aching lower back and hips. Finally....I'm regaining my muscle tone with the help of this DVD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Challenging, April 26, 2008
This review is from: Tracey Mallett's 3 in 1 Pregnancy System (DVD)
This video is more Pilates than yoga, though there are a few yoga elements. I find this workout quite challenging and have taken to doing bits and pieces of it that I can manage. If you're out of shape and/or very pregnant, I think you could easily overdo it with this DVD. I personally prefer the "Yoga Pregnancy" DVD, which is much gentler.

One thing that confused me is that this DVD is labeled "3-in-1." I don't get why. Only one segment provides alternate movements for heavily pregnant women. For the other segments you're on your own as far as finding an appropriate level and adapting your efforts.

The last segment focuses on partner exercises, which are fine but realistically, I'm not going to get my husband to do those with me.

I'd recommend this disc primarily for women who are already quite fit before they become pregnant.
