Book Description

January 5, 2003
A woman whose past makes it impossible for her to get close to anyone. A middle-age man with a passion for young girls and the power to crush anyone who gets in his way. A teenage girl searching for the father she never had. A successful lawyer determined not to get burned again and to have a baby before she's forty. A man with an unquenchable grief for the daughter he lost eight years ago. A teenage girl who believes all her troubles would be over if she could only get her parents back together. When these six people meet, life for all becomes sometimes dangerous, sometimes hilarious, and sometimes heartrending, but ultimately satisfying.

4.0 out of 5 stars Girls on the run, December 31, 2004
By
Rebecca Brown "rebeccasreads" (Clallam Bay, WA United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Traci (Paperback)
Rebeccasreads recommends TRACI as a dark comedy of relationship errors. Wells Earl Draughon knows how to make your hair stand on end, your toes curl, as well as get you giggling. In other words, he's good!

Lots of complicated layers & lies, with menacing old men challenging naive young fathers, ex-wives & current girlfriends doing the "Should I?/I shouldn't!" dance & hissing at each other, while the two saucy maidens wrap everyone around their little fingers! Funny, fast & cautionary -- beware of what you ask for because...

5.0 out of 5 stars full of surprises, November 18, 2004
This review is from: Traci (Hardcover)
This story was just one surprise after another! Just when I thought I knew where it was going, it went someplace else. It blends funny parts and sad parts, and both seem natural without any awkward transitions in between. The characters are so real! Don't be put off by the uninteresting title and the arty cover. This book is a lot of fun and will keep you reading right through to the surprise at the end.
