About the Author

Nick Barratt is widely known from his television work, based on his activities as a medieval, local and family historian: he is in high demand as a consultant, including for the BBC’s House Detectives and History Channel’s Family History Project, and, in 2004 he appeared on the BBC hit series Who Do You Think You Are?, which attracted an average of four million viewers. A second series is due in 2006. Formerly an adviser to researchers at The National Archives, Nick is a well-known speaker on the family history circuit, and also writes widely for the genealogical press including Ancestors magazine. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.
