Formed in early 2001 from personnel in the Charleston SC-based Colombian Neckties (Carlos vocals, John drums) and Washington DCs Rugburn (Bob bass, Señor Guitar, and Carlos), Blowback rejoins members of those bands now found in New York, Los Angeles, and DC. All songs on the album were composed cross-country style, with the aid of MP3s and the members years of playing together although never as a unit. The resulting style is firmly rooted in the DC hardcore punk tradition, with unintentional homage paid to influences ranging from Slayer to The Germs.
The first album from Blowback happened almost by accident. After meeting in New York City to record a demo on September 10, 2001, the bands plans were thrown into disarray by the attacks the following day. Nonetheless inspired to continue on, and working from already-penned lyrics that read like a roadmap to the events of the 11th, the band holed up in Candy Ear studios in Soho and began what would become the 4-day, 16-song recording session that produced the album Track III.
Blowbacks music touches on a litany of domestic and international issues, from Rwanda, Colombia, Chile and the Middle East to civil liberties, the death penalty, and Congressional pandering. Unifying all of the lyrics are messages not communicated through mainstream media Blowback is broadcasting on its own channel, for all who care to hear, listen, and decide for themselves what is the truth.

These guys are pretty sick. The vocalist sounds possessed but the politics are dead on. Good punk/metal/core.

blowback rocks! this kinda sounds like the cro-mags or something.... mad riffs and good variety. the recording is a little weak but not bad for a new band.
