The Track Record is the Next Big Thing, May 24, 2005
This review is from: Track Record (Bonus CD) (Audio CD)
I first heard the The Track Record on the Drive-Thru/Rushmore Records complimation CD that was free with the new Hidden in Plain View CD(which, by the way, is an unbelievable CD in it's own right). I thought their song on that CD "Talk Radio" was far and away the best song on maybe one of the best complimation CD's that I've ever heard. I went out imediatly to buy their newly released EP. After many stops, I finally found it and popped it into my CD and was blow away. I'm a HUGE emo/punk/emocore fan and have heard 100's of bands in the past couple years with very cool, but similar sounds. The Track Record has what is definatly needed on this crowded emo/punk scene, they have a very original sound. They're very up beat, with great riffs and a cool sound and most importanly, in my eyes, they're lyrics are very well written, especially for an EP. All in all, this is the best EP I've heard since The Starting Line's "With Hopes of Starting Over." Plain and simple, this is a must own CD for any punk/emo fan out there. Lastinly, a quick message for The Track Record, don't go totally emo on us on your full-lenght CD that's in the works and please come to Milwaukee!

ok its true TTR dosent have the best singer but he can write good songs. If u find the lyrics they are very touching. These guys are now working on a full lenght and eating up the local/indie scene. The best tracks are Talk Radio and Plans To Wake Up On The Beach. Strong buy if you like punk/emo.

Rushmore presents..., November 3, 2005
This review is from: Track Record (Bonus CD) (Audio CD)
I don't think anyone (on rushmore) will be able to top Houston Calls' "a collection of short stories", but the track record comes pretty damn close. These guys are pretty much your standard emo/punk/rock group, but they've mastered their craft. it's refreshing to hear no nonsense punk/pop bands come back in the vein of saves the day, blink and new found glory, and the track record is one you should get to know. Great lyrics, good music and hooky chorus', this'll be hard to follow up in the rushmore camp.
