I originally got into Trackmania by playing Trackmania Nations, the free version offered at the Trackmania website. After logging several hours on the game, I became a Trackmaniac. I recently purchased the full version (Trackmania United) and was again impressed. Both Nations and United are great racing games because they are very different from most: the racing involves intense tracks with lots of loops and jumps and obstacles on the track. You can compete against yourself to beat the gold medal time for the track, or you can take your gameplay online to challenge friends or anyone else for the best time on any track. Each track has a unique twist that makes it challenging: lots of hairpin turns, very long jumps, unanticipated holes in the track floor, loops, etc. In Nations (which comes with United if you don't already have it), you can drive a formula-one style race car in a Stadium type enviroment. In United, you can drive cars from a Ferrari-style race car for speed to Jeep-style for off-road. Environments in United range from Stadium to Island to Desert to Snow and others. United also offers different types of racing, such as Puzzle, Stunt, or traditional Race. Although the game's graphics are not anything breathtaking, they are still good. Overall, the game is very fun and can be played for many, many hours.

Here's a bit of advice, though: I bought this game for $10 shipped; sometimes a certain seller will sell the game at this killer deal, but when its out of stock, the game goes for the standard $40 or more. The game being sold for $10 is the same exact one as being sold for more, so if you don't see it for $10, try waiting it out to see if the price goes down. No promises though: you might have to pay more, but it'll still be worth it.

This game is a blast, you can download the free version, Trackmania nations forever, and give it a try. Multiplayer community is huge, unlimited amount of tracks with the track creator, and plenty of solo tracks to keep you entertained for a long time.

This is the best, most fun racing game ever. Other racing games are so boring in comparison, because all you do in them is just go around a simple track and try not to hit the walls when you turn. Trackmania lets you do lots of crazy stunts, drive much faster than normal, and it feels like you're flying. Trackmania is a real *game*, whereas the other racing games are not really games. Also Trackmania can be played very well on an older system. I've played it on an older system and a new, much more powerful computer. It looks great and plays great on both computers. I bought PRG4 for the xbox 360 because it seemed like it had really great graphics. But Trackmania is still much more fun to play and still has excellent graphics. Whoever made PRG4 didn't put enough into making the gameplay fun. I don't know why Nadeo doesn't make an XBox 360 version of their game. They are missing out on a lot of money by not doing that. Every racing game is boring compared to Trackmania.

I've played tons of games. Probably an unhealthy amount of games, but played them I have. Included in that pile is the racing genre, and the best racing game I ever played was, is, Trackmania United. I initially took a chance on the original Trackmania by buying a bargain version. I installed it, played it, then bought the next iteration, and loved that too. Here was a game that really pushed the boundaries of racing. And, even better, if you flew off the track during a session, you didn't fly into an invisible container wall generated by the limits of the game engine itself. You could drive MILES away from where you were supposed to play, and explore... not that there was much to see, mind you.

Then I went ahead and DL'd Trackmania Nations. This excellent franchise had set another gold standard yet again. And when I got into the other games, and saw the custom tracks and race cars that were available, I was really blown away. The tracks were huge in scope. They were the tracks that every boy who had racing fantasies dreamed of, and then some. Tracks that were impossible, fun and even impossibly fun. Loops, banks and jumps that defy all logic and reason. The kind of tracks that would be impossible to build, but are fun to imagine and interact with.

But, alas, all good things must come to an end, and so it was that I opted to end my addiction to absolutely the best racing game ever.

If you have the time, are into racing games, then I highly recommend all of the Trackmania games. You will not be disappointed.

My son was playing the "free" Trackmania version on the web. He really enjoys the extra tracks and extras you get with this game! Worth the money but a 3-week wait for a game, that we are told is in stock when we order it does not seem quite right. Even though the 3-week wait falls within the shipping "rules."

This game is perfect for all ages - and I do mean all! My 19 month old boy loves to watch my wife or I race around on the tracks, leans when the car turns, and gets excited when we get a medal. My wife loves to play even though she rarely beats more than the bronze medal times.

There are several styles of cars, each with its own handling characteristics, to go with the several styles of tracks. The game comes with a wide variety of tracks and you can upgrade it for free to the Trackmania United Forever edition, which has even more tracks and the ability to add more that other users have created.

There are speed races, stunts, wild jumps and it's all beautiful, nice sounding, easily-controlled fun. It's not ultra-realistic, actually it's quite unrealistic at times, but this allows the casual gamers a chance to have at least as much fun as the hardcore racing fans - something most "racing" games can't offer. It also gives even the most skilled gamers a challenge as some of those tracks have gold medal times that are VERY hard to beat, and some of the stunt tracks demand truly difficult combinations of stunts to beat the gold medal scores.

This game is so amazing! racing around crazy tracks at extreme high speeds! Also, when you make tracks you can upload them to trackmania websites so others can award them and leave feedback. This game combines fun with a a ton of insaneness. If you have ever wanted to do loops, corkscrews, very long jumps, and much more this is the game for you. Even if you don't want to do this stuff the game will grow on you! Easily the best $20.00 i ever spent!

This combines the three best PC racing games ever. Trackmania Orginal, Trackmania Sunrise, Trackmania Nations. There are 7 unique environments with great graphics for making your own unique tracks, playing premade tracks, or playing tracks made by others. Also has a great online system for playing against others (although it is sometimes slow), and a ranking system. This game is great for anyone who like building stuff or racing cars.
