I have this same question. Even in other authorized Apple reseller, there is the choice of either taking the mouse or the trackpad. Why isn't it this option on Amazon when you order?

I am fairly certain that Amazon and most retailers do not do this. If at the Apple store, they literally take out the mouse and hand you the trackpad. This may be their differentiator

I see, that's too bad...trackpad is way more comfortable than magic mouse for me...well, I guess I have to buy it at apple store.
