This is not a custom made product so I do have to be fair in recognizing that you get a pretty decent product for the amount you are paying.

To add insult to injury, the instructions are HORRIBLY translated from Korean.

This is not a custom made product so I do have to be fair in recognizing that you get a pretty decent product for the amount you are paying. A truly custom 1/16, with considerably more metal parts, would cost $1000 and not $149... That said, you have to treat this RC "tank" pretty delicately. You can't drive it on grass, rough terrain or rocks. If you do, either the treads or the drive wheels will come off. That leaves asphalt and carpeting because the metal tracks will chew up even the hardest hard wood floors. If you have an active dog, then don't let it near this "tank". The plastic is pretty soft and it can easily get scratched or chipped. While it is well-detailed -- and historically pretty accurate -- a lot of the other surface parts are fragile as well. You have to handle it very gingerly to avoid breaking off the machinegun barrel (which blinks a cheap red light when fired), the front lights, hatch doors -- practically everything that is plastic on this tank is vulnerable. And there are a number of reviews on RC Universe that warn against bashing the gun into anything -- it's also plastic and fragile and you can wreck the turret drivetrain... WHEN the tank works -- the stock batteries are good for about 30 minutes (so upgrade those first) -- it sounds great, runs great, makes smoke, has a great recoil effect, fires the Airsoft BBs pretty regularly without jamming. And there are lots of upgrades and spair parts available if you really want to take the time to learn how to upgrade it. Which is a good thing, because you're going to be making repairs and upgrades pretty frequently... Although listed at for ages 14 and up, this is DEFINITELY NOT a child's toy. My son has a 1/16 Camaro that cost $50 and will go over just about anything. It's fast and sturdy.Read more ›

I had this out of the box and running in no time. Instructions are poor as others have noted but for people into RC it was no problem figuring out how to get it up and running. Mine came in without damage to any part and appears to be in good working order for now. Metal treads look nice. No way to see if all BB's are fired after loading so be careful about "leftovers" in case of an accidental discharge when not expecting it. I prefer to just run it and keep it as as a nice model. I may buy one of the "all metal" ones in catalog later but so far I am pleased with this one for the $$ spent. Update: If you want to take the top off to grease the metal drive gears you need to remove 3 deep driven screws on the bottom of the tank and then 3x2=6 evenly spaced screws just above the treads. It's easy to take the treads off using a small allen key on the front two drive sprockets to get to the 6 small screws. The hubcaps wil come off to expose the set screws.
My gears were bone dry of grease. Putting the screws back in and lining up the 9 holes is a bit of a headache. I spent about 2 hours carefully doing this task. If you have a King Tiger the 6 deep driven screws on the bottom allow you instant access to the drive gears. It really is easy in comparison to the Tiger I. UPDATE
I did experience some problems over the few months since purchase. Had to tighten front drive sprockets repeatedly and finally applied a drop of Elmer's glue to hold them a bit tighter but not too tight so I couldn't get them out later. I had to replace a #2 crystal that went bad and also the black plug-in connector board ($8) when the tank got stuck in flashing light mode. Parts were readily available in the USA.

Received from TPA ( preferred) promptly. Tank came with almost all accessories already mounted except for smoke mortars. Only big complaint was that the commanders hatch/bb magazine was glued shut and ended up slightly damaging the hatch to get it open. This must have been a mistake made by one of the assemblers. Also the smoke oil bottle had leaked some of its fluid.

Tank drivetrain proved reliable and strong. airsoft gun is not very powerful but still functions after several hundred rounds. Does fire empty sometimes and sometimes the balls just roll out the barrel, but thats typical with just about any hopper fed airsoft gun.

Since I have had it however I have had to disassemble and reassemble one bank of bogies so I could tighten them up as they were working loose. I also had to add spacers to one of the idlers to keep it from moving side to side and causing the track to come off occasionally. I also ended up drilling a hole under the muzzle brake so that short stroked bbs would not accumulate in the muzzle brake. I broke one of the smoke mortars off and ended up gluing it back in place.

I love this tank but it requires gentle handling and some maintenance but its design makes it very easy to work on so long as you research what you need to do first on the web. Also there are a horde of spare parts, upgrades and accessories available online. If I am not mistaken this tank is supposed to have compatability with Tamiya brand tanks.

Would have preferred the camoflauged version metal tracks but couldn't find it available at the time.
