This unit seemed solidly built, designed to deliver the goods. When I used it to start my dead car, it delivered plenty of startup juice. It had me baffled at first because when I hooked it up to my dead battery, nothing happened. I read the manual again. I had missed that I needed to contact the negative cable to the car chassis. I don't know if all units of this type work this way but they should have put that part in bold letters.
Couple of quibbles. * The clamps on the cables are bare metal. They should have covered the metal with rubber. Even though technically one might not get shocked, it's nervous making to handle hi-amp contacts with bare hands on bare metal. * The plug on the tire inflator was poor quality soft plastic that just would not work. I couldn't get it to fit properly over the valve stem to get the air flowing. Since I had, in part, bought the unit for maintaining tire pressure, this was a big disappointment and I ended up having to return the unit. |
