Tractor - self-titled (Ozit) - 30th Anniversary Special Edition+6 bonus tracks,
By
This review is from: Tractor (Audio CD)
Originally released in 1972, as this is Ozit's CD reissue of their self-titled lp's 30th anniversary 'special edition'. Tractor,is of course the duo of players Jim Milne-guitar,bass&vocals and Steve Clayton on drums. Every bit as outstanding as their '...Dandelion Years' compilation(see my review). Superb British psychedelia, here JUST waiting to be fully experienced. About every track on this disc wails, but here's my run down of it all - absolute best tunes here are "Little Girl In Yellow", the trippy "Shubunkin" and the brilliantly done piece "Make The Journey" (almost worth the price of admission alone). Other notable tunes are "All Ends Up",the awesome-sounding "Watcher", the boogie rocker "Ravenscroft's 13 Bar" and the most beautifully done ballad I believe I may have ever heard "Everytime It Happens". Comes with six bonus tracks, including demos and a good 2001-02 studio session with Thomas Hewitt (Chris's son)and Nik Turner. Comes with a lavishly assembled twelve-page CD booklet, packed with info, memorbilia and newspaper reviews(great reproduction work, there). Straight and TO the point, a must-have.

Ditto, this one is a must have,

As already stated in a previous review, this is Ozit's 30th anniversary release of the new incarnation of The Way We Live, Tractor, Jim Milne and Steve Clayton. For more than 30 years this duo has releaed consistently excellent albums which unfortunately have not received wide release. Tis certainly a pity since these guys have most definitely got the goods. The entire Tractor/The Way We Live catalog has nary a weak link. Unfortunately, the albums are always in much greater demand than supply. Thus, pick up a copy of this luscious slab of classic rock lest it go out of print. Milne's guitar work and vocals and the overall song quality make this album, and all others by the band in either incarnation, absolute musts for fans of psychedelic rock or just plain (not ordinary) good rock and roll.

Love this album, there are a couple of weak cuts but over all this is some rocking sixties English psych well worth picking up.
