The Tracy Schwarz Cajun Trio is the real deal for Cajun waltzes and two-steps.

Cajun Trio,
By Andy Collings (Winchester, Hants. UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tracy Schwarz Cajun Trio (Audio CD)
I bought this CD at a performance when they were on tour in the UK. I must admit all I knew about this type of music was what I had heard in the film "The Big Easy". I was so entranced with the sheer exuberance and 'foot tappingness' of the songs that after a dance workshop of the Cajun two-step, ideal for idiots like me I was hooked and had to have the music. The songs at first seem to be Country and Western, which I hate, but on closer examination seem quite 'exotic' and unusual because of the lyrics. These are in Louisiana/French patois and really lead you back to a time when life was simpler and obviously more harsh. I always imagine the music being played at a local wedding or similar in the bayou with roughneck cajuns and their mademoiselles. Although the group's leader and accordian player's name has a not too cajun ring to it - the band itself is great and I never stop playing it. Bring out another!
