Let me start by saying that this is a good book. One might accuse the author of false advertising because there is very little about "online" stock trading. Sure, there are a few references to a couple of sites, but the author admits that he relies on a human broker for times when the market is moving fast. This book is about trading options on stock splits. The latter half of the book comprises his strategies, which ALL have to do with trading options on companies that are about to have, or have had, stock splits. The bottom line, however, is that the basics are very well explained and this is a very worthwhile book.

This book concerns online trading of splits, not stocks online trading in general, as you might expect from the title. If you look for a book about split trading, this one is all right. If you start stocks online trading, consider searching for another title.

This is definitely NOT one of my favorite books about stocks. The title of the book is a little deceiving, the author talks a lot about option instead of stocks and half the book is about stock splits.

Chapters 1-4 are about general info, such as you must buy and sell to make money, don't hold for a long time. You must research the stock before purchase, EPS must increase every year. I didn't find anything in those chapters that I didn't already know.

Chapters 5-10 is all about stock splits and when to purchase the stock as well as when to sell. Once again, the author talks about the obvious; buy when you hear that stock is splitting and sell after the split before the after split dip.

Chapter 11 gets into more advanced trading techniques, the bull put spread. This is not something that I use or will use in my trading.

Chapter 12 is the concluding chapter

This book was very good back in the 2000-2002 era. Rigth now a trader needs more practical and up to date strategies.

Day trading is all about making buy and sell decisions. When you make a trade either your going to lose money or your going to make money, and some other times you will break even. When you win some body else will lose and so forth, but that's NOT what's important.

The most important aspect of day trading is the knowledge FILTER you employ to make your buy/sell decisions. There are many "fantastic" strategies outhere, but you need to test them in order to discover which ones help you the most. That's part of your homework as a daytrader. Test, test and test again.

Complicated strategies that rely on a "boat load" of technical indicators can make you slow, and being slow in this game can be as dangerous as not knowing what to do in the first place.

I think the worst thing that can happen to a beginner trader is to get information overload. It's better to go step by step, and test a simple strategy that can show you how to focus on concrete ways to make money.

Fortunatly there are some good sites on the web today that can show you how to trade in a practical and effective way. One of those sites is Sharp Trades (SharpTrades com)

In the end, day trading is all about buying and selling according to your knowledge FILTER. Once you master and follow youre proven filter parameters like a clock, you can expect to start making serious amounts of cash on a consistent basis.

I have read many books on stock market investing and would recommend this book to anyone starting out in the market. It is clear and easy to understand. The book is written for those who wish to gain a working knowledge of stocks and options and how to use them together in a bull or bear market.

Both of Larson's books are well worth the read. His treatment of trading splits is an absolute read for anyone who want to profit from stock splits whether by stock purchase or using the option route. Mark has mastered advance technical analysis, and has an uncanny ability to teach that master. I have met Mark on a few occasions, and he is really one of the good guys. He passionately cares about helping others succeed, and demonstrates that both in his seminars, mentoring program and through his books.

Mr Larson has an obvious and clear understanding of how the stock market works. But the true gift he possesses is his incredible ability to communicate his knowledge thoroughly and in a very understandable manner. Mr Larson's book was like a light house in the middle of the fog of confusing and overhelming stock market information currently available. The book opened my mind to the concept of 'Buy and Sell' for a quick, attainable profit rather then 'Buy and Hold' for the long term. It also opened my mind to strategies in a down market which are particularly exciting since stocks fall 4-8 times faster then they go up. I found this book inspiring and hope instilling. Tap into Mr Larson's experience and read this book.

Mark Larson really knows his topic! He is knowledgeable, experienced, and obviously has a passion about the subject matter. His techniques are proven and profitable. Thank you, Mark, for sharing your money-making strategies with the world!

Trading Stocks Online has great opened my mind to changing my the way I think about investing. It is hard to break free from the buy and hold mentality. Investing should treated like a business. Your in business to make money; if your not making money then why are you in business?

The book starts off by helping the reader develop a dream and then explains the basics on how to protect those dreams by running your business, placing stop losses, and knowing when to get out. This book also has wonderful insight in to strategies that are easy to understand and implement.

Mark Larson's book provides real insights into how to make REAL money when the stock market goes up OR down. You often wonder whether the author following the principles outlined would make money. This author is living proof that the principles outlined in the book do make money. It is a complement to the author's other educational endeavors. This book is highly recommended. Thanks Mark.
