I'm probably not the typical reader of Harlequin Romances, 49 year old married man. Never read one before, (or any other romance fiction), but I liked this a lot. The sheikh is of course wealthy and very handsome and the heroine is beautiful, with an independent streak which is challenged by the captive plotline, which works quit well. Can the somewhat autocratic man, used to everything being his way, adjust to the the heroine's independence ? Can she give up some of that independence for the love that she desires and he offers ?
Sure she can, but he must prove to her that he is worthy of her trust, and of course he is and he does. The happy ending is required in this genre, but then I like happy endings. Think of this as Raymond Chandler writing for women, all the details aren't resolved at the end but the big picture is good. Speaking of loose ends, why did the belly dancer costume fit Emma so well ?

ISN'T Joel's review cute and nice...but anyway liked it simple quick read, is it worth it yes it kind of reminds me of a historical romance novel being his captive because its kind of rear to read about captive and trade in modern romance novels ABOUT BOOK: Who dares trespass on Sheikh Zageo's palace on the exotic island of Zanzibar? Zageo demands that the intruder be brought before him! Emily Ross is appalled to find she's the sheikh's prisoner. To prove her innocence she needs Zageo's help. If the price is giving herself to him, then it's one she'll have to pay....

this book is *surrender to the sheikh* serie...*He`s proud, passionate, primal-dare she surrender to the sheikh?
I did think that belly-dance is a little too much to be always bundled with Arabs : / |
