5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Field Machete!
Bought this blade, and used it while camping. It can be used in many applications. It is worthy to be a part of my field/camping equipment.

3.0 out of 5 stars a little pricey
i believe this machete is over priced significantly. i don't believe any of the fabric/leather bits will last a seasons worth of wet, cheaply "cured". i work with steel for a living and i expected a little more heft on the blade for its size. for the price, the thing should have been 22" long at least. there's still a factory burr on the cutting edge showing a down...

i believe this machete is over priced significantly. i don't believe any of the fabric/leather bits will last a seasons worth of wet, cheaply "cured". i work with steel for a living and i expected a little more heft on the blade for its size. for the price, the thing should have been 22" long at least. there's still a factory burr on the cutting edge showing a down and dirty manufacturing process. i was worried about it being too heavy for extended use, it's not cumbersome at all. though the spine is thick, the blade is quickly tapered to a manageable thickness and weight.

i'm going to keep it with some reservations that i should have given up a little length and several dollars and bought the ka-bar. i also believe i could have sacrificed some perceived "quality" and bought a 22" version cheaper and have been equally satisfied. would have given four stars but the price negated star number four, detracting from the item's value to my cheap self.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good...ish...., June 24, 2010

short version
Pros: Decent length, EXTERME heft, thick spine, deep belly
Cons: Sheath, Edge, point, Cost

Long version
More for chopping and hacking than slicing, this machete is more axe than knife. It maintains a thick spine and broad belly but falls short with a poor point and dull edge. All can be remedied with substantial sharpening however, and if you have access to a file I'd suggest hitting the the edge and spine sides of the point to increase piercing ability. All in all I shouldve bought the kershaw outcast, but this, once properly sharpened, will ablely and savagely do what i need it to do and more so.

4.0 out of 5 stars super chopper, April 21, 2011
This review is from: Trademark HUGE Full Tang Carbon Steel 18-Inch Kukri Machete (Sports)
I sharpened this and replaced the handle wrap and lanyard with 550 paracord. Now it is a beast. It is a very good Kukri shape. It doesn't take much effort to chop through branches. It has the power of an axe but is agile like a tomahawk. You can swing this with alot of power. I always advise wearing work gloves and using the lanyard when swinging this and all machete type cutting tools. ( replace the cord it comes with using something stronger like 550 paracord) This thing is a brute but it is a good kukri specimen.
