5.0 out of 5 stars Book It!
Here's an exciting product! I love it, and I say go to your favorite seat or sofa, sit down with the lap desk and read, write, then read some more. Include a snack, too, while in use. It'll go anywhere you wish to take it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Shoddy Lap Desk
The quality of this product isn't even worth a single star. It is much smaller than it is made to appear in the photograph where it is shown on an individual's lap. The finish on the so-called wood is rough and amateurish. The cushion can hardly be called such. The hinges are barely thicker than gold-colored aluminum foil, aren't mounted properly and are bent...

1.0 out of 5 stars Shoddy Lap Desk, May 20, 2006
The quality of this product isn't even worth a single star. It is much smaller than it is made to appear in the photograph where it is shown on an individual's lap. The finish on the so-called wood is rough and amateurish. The cushion can hardly be called such. The hinges are barely thicker than gold-colored aluminum foil, aren't mounted properly and are bent. Netlink's return policy is calculated to take advantage of busy people like me who should have ordered from Levenger's in the first place: it's not worth my time to pack it back in the box, take it to the post office and pay the return shipping. I put it out on the trash receptacle and am sure it will have disappeared by morning. This is what I get from trying to save a few bucks.

1.0 out of 5 stars Junk, January 30, 2009

You'd be better off using a flattened cardboard box. This thing is unbelievably shoddy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible Product, April 29, 2009

I bought this desk for my mother whose left arm is paralyzed from a brain injury. I was hoping this would help her be able to read her books and use her laptop. It was for her 60th birthday. The box arrived and everything looked fine until I opened it. The actual desk's box looked fine but the styrofoam packing molds were all broken and the hinge on the desk was missing it's pin. The wood was scratched and it looked awful. My dad fixed the hinge issue with a paperclip but overall it was a disappointing purchase. I would strongly recommend not buying any products from this seller.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible, February 24, 2009

This "desk" is crapola. You can get a much nicer wood one for the same price at Borders. Even their plastic ones are better and cheaper.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible, March 12, 2010

The desk finally came and it was damaged. The hinge couldn't hold on to the cheap plywood it was glued to. And the middle of the lap portion was almost ripped in two. OK things happen. I called the company and emailed them pictures the day I received it. I was told to discard it and asked whether I would like a refund or replacement. Naturally, I chose a refund and was told on Feb. 11 that I would receive it 1-2 business weeks later. The time passed. I called and I was told it was coming. Now it has been a full month since I was promised my refund and I called. They passed me around from department to department. I have had it. I'm not upset that it was damaged what burnt my biscuits is the fact that after they didn't deliver the product as described they are trying not to give me back my money. To add injury to insult they are giving me the run around. I suggest if anyone gets the crazy idea to purchase anything from them go to the junkyard and find something close enough to what you want and that would be of better quality than the product and service you would receive from Stacks and Stacks.

1.0 out of 5 stars misleading product representation, May 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

This product is very poor quality and construction, and the photo representations are misleading. In addition to that if I want to return the item I would end up with a refund around $1.00 after the restocking fee and shipping are deducted. The retail business ain't what it used to be.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for the price, December 7, 2008

This lapdesk is unique in the fact that it holds a book upright, which is really handy if you are working on something and need to reference another book continuously. The vertical holder is not made to hold a heavy book (like a study bible). After an hour's use the screws of the hinges pulled out. But my husband fixed a permanent bracket to it for me and now it is just fine, even though it can't fold flat any more. I would still recommend it because it's the only one of it's kind available and is very reasonably priced.
