Priced for high-end, but fails to deliver,
This review is from: Trademark 100% Plastic Bicycle Prestige Dura-Flex Rare Playing Cards (Blue) (Sports)
The Dura-flex cards are actually more expensive than Copag on a per deck basis, but fail to match Copag's quality on several levels.
First is that these cards are much easier to crease than you'd think. I creased a card on the very first shuffle in my first pack. Take a joker out of a Copag deck and a Bicycle deck, and bend them both at the same time. You'll notice that the Copag is *far* more resilient than the Bicycle Duraflex. Second is how they feel in the hand. It is a textured feel, but one that is very unnautral. Its supposed to feel more like a standard paper card, but I think they missed the mark on this. Third, the cards have a noticable chemical smell to them straight out of the package. When you shuffle the cards for the first time, you notice that this chemical is rubbing off on your fingers. Fourth, QC seems to be much lower, as I had to look at packs on the shelf to make sure that I wasnt getting a pack with a creased card. Maybe that is because the cards are made in China. Other card makers have made quality craftsmanship a point of pride, whereas I dont feel this is the case for this specific Bicycle product. If this was a $4-$5 deck, I'd give it a higher rating. But since it is trying to be competitive as a "high end" deck of cards and not the "middle range" deck that it truly is, I have to rate it 1 star.

The deck of 100% plastic cards from Bicycle are indead awsome. They are thicker than the standard plastic decks found on the market and are durable and flexable at the same time.

If this is your first deck of plastic cards, you would be impressed. However, if you've ever used a deck of kem, copag, modiano, dal negro, gemaco, fornier, ect. you will be highly disappointed. They are better than royals or vegas brand plastic cards, however. The packaging says that they have a paper-like feel, but they definitely feel like plastic. They are very textured, but still very slippery making them harder to shuffle unless you are used to plastic decks. They do seem extremely durable, I bent a card into a "U" shape, then touched the corners together, and it did not crease. They come in a hard plastic case, however it does not snap shut. They are poker sized, which is not stated on the box.
Now for the bad news: First, these cards are extremely shiny. They have a crystalline shine to them unlike any other plastic card. Second, the graphics on them are standard bicycle. They are very plain and not detailed like kems and other cards. Third, these have a horrible chemical smell, bar none. Other plastic cards have a smell to them, but these take the cake. Fourth, is the cost. For less money you can can get a setup of copag, which are much nicer. For a little more you can get a setup of kems, which are by far the nicest cards you can buy in my opinion. Unless you are buying these to add to your plastic card collection like I was, these cards are a definite pass. I paid $[...] for my deck, and they are not worth that. To me they are worth about $[...] if that.
