Wow. This is THE book to have for anyone thinking about a retro-south seas type party. This is a real collectors item for anyone who loves cookbooks. Vic's style is a little rough (language-wise anyway, only because he's a real man's man) but the advice is sound and timeless. This little glimpse into post-war Americana is excellent in all respects. It stays on the mantle, proudly displayed, anytime I'm not using it.

The book was in wonderful shape, for as old as it was. It is a gift for a friend, because I have my own copy. His is much better than mine. Copyrighted 1946, wonder condition.
