Things every investor needs to know,
By Mitchell Mann (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Trader On Wall Street: A Short Term Traders Guide (Paperback)
What I like best about this book is it reveals information that most people think you already know when it comes to investing. It brings insights into fundamental and techinical analysis that as an investor for over 15yrs had never really been shown to me. Easy to read and apply to my own investing style. Now I feel much more confident about making investment decisions and knowing what to look for. I keep it next to my computer for a reference book as well. I'm giving it as a gift to all my friends who lost money listening to their broker!

Worth twice the price,
By Alkiguy (Seattle, WA United States) - See all my reviews

In my short life as a trader, I have purchased well over a dozen books related to this subject. If this is not the best book, it is certainly unsurpassed. It is easy to read and very much, the kind of book you will read once... then review and reference again and again. I have been to a live seminar that Mike Coval has taught. Mike is the type of person that walks the talk. His book is a reflection of that. I can personally attest that his techniques and advice can make money in better trades and save money easily lost in costly mistakes.

No Overkill,
By Andrew Stone (San Diego CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Trader On Wall Street: A Short Term Traders Guide (Paperback)
I read this book as a new trader in the market. The first 5 chapters were especially helpfull in preparing me for my first trade. Many authors like to impress with fancy terms and industry specific sayings. Mr. Coval was easy to read and the information was dead on. I have read the book from cover to cover and then recommended it to my son. The chapter on market makers made a lot of sense. I now understand the price variences in everyday stock prices. The technical charting chapter was also easy to follow. The only downside I found in the book was that it was in paperback. I prefere hardback but the price was right...

This is my third time through the book at different stages in my progress. Unlike many other Trading Books this is down to earth, common sense. It is a good place to start and to continually come back to. Consider that I say this after thirty years of experience starting with Graham as my first text. It makes no difference what your style of trading may be, this book is a must.

Of all of the books I have read on investing, this book gave me a clearer understanding of the stock market and trading for income. It showed how to get started, understanding risk and how to preserve capital. I gained insight into how to look at stocks using analysis and not emotion. It was enjoyable to read, very informative and extremely helpful.

this book outlines a short term trading style that is very popular. it's very practical and can be applied right away. a lot of books go into the theory so much and the author never tells you what they actually do in practice. this book is almost the opposite of that. i found the sections on looking at market volatility, futures, and market open trading very helpful. some reviewers are hung up on a handful of typos, but if you are looking for grammer, get an english book.
