I was so thrilled when I got this DVD. Traders was a very smart, fast-paced series that aired in Canada. I wish the other seasons would come out on DVD, too. I would love to be able to follow the rest of the series.

If you buy anything today -- buy this DVD! You will never be sorry.

"Traders" appeals on so many levels - drama, comedy, romance, intrigue, suspense. But how can a show about a bunch of people in banking, stock trading, investment, and finance be exciting? I don't know, but this show surely is! Whether they are at their computer monitors on the trading floor tracking the ticker or in the boardroom handling the fate of unsuspecting others or on location assessing the value of some investment, these characters are intriguing, addictive, appealing, and believable. Some are young upstarts; some are old-timers with lots of experience; some are in the "game" for the thrill; some are in it for the money.

Just watch the show a few times and you get an idea of what "Doing a Marty" means. Then there's the invisible rival McGrath -- a character who never appears but always gets (or sends) the dreaded Grim Reaper fax. This show is different -- even the theme song by Lou Natale sucks you in.

When I gave a co-worker a few episodes I had taped off CBC, he came back the the next day with "More!" He had watched all the episodes in a single night, unable to put the show aside. Yes, "Traders" is THAT good.

The full run of this show deserves to be on DVD. It deserves extra features to explain how some of the episodes came to be written. Much of the activity came from real life. The writers used "moles" to ferret out some interesting material. Real-life traders were willing to share their scares and victories. And some of it is pretty scary!

But it is doubtful the entire series will be released on DVD. Alliance Atlantis has ceased responding to requests for such a release. In the past, the company responded with a "no plans at this time" reply. Now, it doesn't even respond. If any series deserves to be released in full, it is this one.

"Traders" remains my #1 favorite TV series of all time. Nothing has come close to the blend of story line and character. It actually spoiled me with regard to episodic television. "Traders" and the people responsible won many awards for their efforts. They deserved every win. And "Traders" deserves to be released on DVD.

I recently watched the complete first season on DVD and am totally hooked! I sure hope they will release the other seasons. All of the actors do a great job of being very believable and create tension so thick you could cut it with a knife! You feel as if you are right there with them for the highs and lows. I bought this DVD mainly to see David Cubitt, but I am really impressed with the entire cast.

I bought this series on a whim, and I am glad I own it. After the second episode, I was hooked. The show is intelligent, well written, and all the characters have more than two dimensions. The actors play off each other well, and the stories have a good mix of drama and light moments.
When the powers that be decided to release the remaining seasons, I'll be first in line.

I think Traders is an excellent tv drama. I only wish they would show it on American TV. I love the character of Grant Jansky which is played by David Hewlett. I love the interaction between all the characters. The stories are very interesting.

An excellent dramatic series from Canada, I was hooked long ago while it was still being aired, and then bought the DVD after the re-runs ended. I am disappointed to not see the remaining seasons released on DVD. We should encourage Alliance Atlantis - who owned the rights at one point, and may still - to publish the remaining seasons on DVD.

Excellent series if you like the action of Wall Streeters. Action packed and holds your attention. Most enjoyable. I can't wait for other years in the series to be released.

TRADERS AIRED IN THE U.S. BREEFLY - BUT I GOT HOOKED. I'M DELIGHTED TO HAVE A DVD COPY. I'M ANXIOUS FOR THE NEXT SEASON THE COME OUT SO I CAN ORDER IT. HOPE I DON'T HAVE TO WAIT VERY LONG.

That's what I said when I put Traders Season 1 into my DVD player. Their are NO special features. Now don't get me wrong, if I was reviewing the show, I'd give it 10 out of 5 stars, but I'm reviewing the DVD and it's terrible. Alliance Atlantis put no effort into this realese. All there is are the 13 episodes, subtitiles, and a French dub. Their isn't even a menu for scene selection. If Traders is on T.V., than save your money and just tape the episodes. It's just frustrating to think that Alliance Atlantis didn't put anything intersting like deleted scenes or commentaries onto this. However, it you don't have these episodes on tape and really want to see the show, then buy this DVD since the show its self is amazing.
