This piece is another in Dan Gibson's natural aural wonder-pieces. For those who want to enjoy the sounds of nature just by itself, without the sometimes interfering or jarring addition of music that can often muffle nature-sounds it was supposed to enhance, Tradewind Islands is just what the doctor ordered. If you want to escape into a tropical paradise of sound and imagine yourself relaxing on a hammock with palm trees above, lush greenery surrounding you, and a flowing creek nearby, this is the CD to get. You hear the sounds of birds and water amidst the tropical jungle, and later come to the gentle sounds of the surf and beyond, a great way to drift away from the cares of the mundane world. A great choice.
For those who like having their music too, some other choices I strongly recommend from the Solitudes series: Rocky Mountain Suite, Mountain Sunrise, Spring Awakening, Forest Piano, Piano Cascades, Stargazing, Land of the Loon, Emerald Forest, Zen Garden, and Journey With the Whales. All are simply exquisite.
