Book Description

June 1, 2009
There are worse things than winding up dead. With her ex-husband's death, Elyse Cabot thinks she's permanently off the emotional roller coaster.until he turns up posing as his twin brother-the real victim of foul play-at his funeral. Before she can get any answers out of him, he's gone, leaving her with more questions than closure. And a fortune in loose diamonds. Seeing Elyse again brings back a lot of hot, sweaty teenage memories for Jack. Then she opens her mouth and out comes some cockamamie story about her ex, diamonds and double crossing. So much for rekindling an old flame. Still, he just can't seem to resist the lure of this dame in distress. He just hopes he can solve the case before he does something stupid-like fall in love. Warning, this title contains the following: Twins, explicit sex, graphic language, some rock 'em sock 'em violence, and did we mention diamonds?

Denise Belinda McDonald started her writing career at the tender age of eight. Her stories have changed over the years, but not her love for telling tales. An overactive imagination and a propensity to embellish have kept her sexy contemporary love stories rich with lovable characters and interesting twists set smack-dab in the middle of cowboy country. Throw in a little butt-kicking and a lot of action and you will immerse yourself so deeply in her community of characters you'll expect to be present and accounted for at the next town function.

Denise lives in Texas with her husband, four boys and two dogs where she juggles her time between writing, carpool, Cub Scouts, sports galore and a multitude of crafts.

4.0 out of 5 stars Trading Faces, April 2, 2009
This review is from: Trading Faces (Kindle Edition)
Elyse Cabot never thought she would have to attend her ex-husbands funeral when they were both still young. She had so many plans for them, but they took second place to his ambition in his accounting firm. He had changed into an elitist arrogant man she didn't recognize. Gone were the dreams of a comfortable life with children and all the love they could stand. That was why they had been divorced for three years. Elyse knew if Matthew were dead that she would feel it deep down, and she didn't. When she looked at his body in the casket, she was looking for a scar he had on his chin, but it wasn't there. She was shocked when she realized the man being buried wasn't him. She fainted when Matthew posing as his identical twin, winked at her.

Jack Walling had met Elyse thirteen years ago at a holiday party, and he thought she looked better than she did back then if it was possible. He hated seeing her under the circumstance of a funeral. When he saw her faint, he tried to get to her before she hit the ground, but he didn't make it in time. He helped her home thinking the whole way that something was very off with her. You could have knocked Jack over with a feather when Elyse showed up at his office to hire him. As a private investigator, she asked him to find her ex-husband Matthew Cabot. She explained her beliefs, and as crazy as is sounded, he believed her.

When Elyse was attacked, and called Jack for help, he was convinced that not everything was as it appeared. As they spent more and more time together, they both felt the undeniable attraction between them. Jack fought it as long as he could because he believed getting involved with a client was never a good idea, but in the end, they both gave into lust. Even though there was still a threat to Elyse, they settled into a happy routine while trying to figure out what was going on. When attempts against her were stepped up, Jack knew he had to figure out the puzzle before he lost the woman he was beginning to love.

A suspenseful story that draws you in from the beginning, keeps you on your toes. Elyse had suffered unimaginable pain and suffering at the hands of Matthew. She had no idea the lengths he would go to protecting himself. He is truly an abhorrent human being, and deserved everything that he got. Jack and Elyse are truly themselves with each other, and we get to follow along on their journey together. Passionate sex and a good story are always a good combination.
