5.0 out of 5 stars Great Stuff, May 16, 2008
This review is from: 70 Traditional African Recipes: Authentic classic dishes from all over Africa adapted for the Western kitchen--all shown step-by-step in 300 simple-to-follow photographs (Paperback)
The recipes look great, lots of colour photos, including some depicting cooking procedures. As stated, the recipes have been adapted to the Western kitchen, so that ingredients can be found locally. I have another African cookbook that, though very nice, is difficult to use due to the unavailability of many of the ingredients.

1.0 out of 5 stars Traditional African Recipes, November 13, 2011

VERY DISAPPOINTED with this purchase. Lousy selection of recipes. This is more of an anemic magazine than an actual cookbook. Overpriced for value. It has made me very reluctant to order future ethnic cookbooks without benefit of either a personal recommendation or a physical review. "Simple to follow photographs" picture remedial cooking skill tasks that the most basic cook should know.....somewhat misleading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious with Photos!, June 17, 2011

Ordering cook books online always makes me nervous. You can't flip through to see if there are lots of photographs, which is a necessity in my mind for a good cook book. "70 Traditional African Recipes" did not disappoint me at all! Every page is covered in step by step instructions, most of which are accompanied by their own little how-to photograph. The motivation to try a harder, new recipe is so much higher with beautiful photos! The directions are also easily readable and easy to follow. Having never cooked African cuisine until buying this book, it's been a big help! It doesn't hurt that both things I've tried making so far, have turned out to be delicious!
