Bargello is one of the older forms of needlepoint, but it's wonderful look is stil fresh. While Bargello is easy to learn and fun to do, there aren't many books out there to give the stitcher patterns and ideas for doing this.

Traditional Bargello is a fantastic resource for stitchers just learning Bargello as well as for old hands to the technique

A great Bargello Needlepoint Book There were a few designs I found wonderful, many I found acceptable and lots and lots of color pictures (always important). This book is well worth reading and will teach you and please you. These are all good things and I repeat, this is a great book.

There are many books on bargello, Florentine or flame stitch out there and I'm surprised how much I like this one. It's fairly small but is filled with really interesting projects. I like it that the author uses all color photos or color drawings of charts and shows projects in various stages of completion from beginning to end. See also:

I've done two of the stitch patterns in this book so far. The first one included a chart and a photo of the completed stitch, but one was upside down from the other which totally confused me. The colors were also different from each other. The second one has a mistake in the pattern and two of the colors used in the pattern are practically identicle making it impossible to read with out the photo- which is on a different page. Over all not intuitively layed out and sloppy mistakes.
