This collection of traditional hymns is breathtaking in its scope. The arrangements are fresh, the musical styles are varied and the performances are fun, poignant and full of surprises. I love the use of such non-traditional instruments as the whistle, ullian pipes and various percussions. There's jazz, rap, Celtic and folk all represented here with professional musical precision that's a joy to behold. And the messages are "tried and true". It's also nice to see so many songs for Mary, Our Blessed Mother included in this collection. Bravo, Fr. Stan for another great album!

I first heard of Father Stan Fortuna from his appearances of EWTN's Life on the Rock. There I heard samples from this CD, live. It is contemporary faith of our fathers! It is the good catholic music we grew up with--strong renditions with a James Taylor type delivery. His vocals are clear and clean, an obvious blessing. This is a must have CD for all ages. The best part of purchasing this CD is that the profits are destined to make a difference in the lives of everyday people. The work as a whole is beneficial to all who buy it, hear it, and benefit from it. What a wonderful treasure Father Stan Fortuna is to the Catholic church.

I heard Fr. Stan at a Marion conference and really enjoyed his singing. Great moving voice ...I ordered this cd because I have been everywhere for Traditional Catholic Hymns but they are hard to find. Not all the songs were what I call Traditional but I still love it! Even the different styles of song are great with his voice. I would buy another of his cds if they had traditional songs like ....At That First Eucharist...Only thing I didn't like was 3 Ave Maria's on the same cd.

Traditional Catholic Hymns provides music that soothes me with creative arrangements and talented performances. From a beautiful accapella rendition of the "The water Is Wide" where Fr. Stan displays his vocal ability to an uplifting, jazzy/rap version of "Come Holy Ghost" in which Father Stan demonstrates his talent on the fretless bass, the listener is plesantly surprised by the familairity of these traditional hymns in artistic and respectful arrangements.

Father Stan Fortuna uses his God given musical talents to help others less fortunate. All proceeds go toward the Community of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal's hands-on work with the poor! This is truly a WIN-WIN CD - Buy several - give them to friends!

i heard fr stan's music when he went to the 38th cyo/taf convention. he inspired my to tell the good news and christ. his music is the greatest thing i've heard. i already have three of his cds

This album is absolutely wonderful! I listen to it over and over and never tire of it. These are the songs I remember singing when I grew up. Father is a very talented singer and his music reaches into your soul. I wish that he would do another album of traditional Catholic hymns.

Fr. Stan has again hit his target with some Catholic favorites as well as a few changes...excellent work straight to the heart.

I was first treated to Fr. Stan when I volunteered to chaperone youth from our parish to a "Steubenville East" weekend retreat. Each time he spoke or performed, it plainly came directly from his heart. This young man is a refreshing messenger from God in this age, delivering His message in a form that young people are ready to hear. If his rendition of "On Eagles' Wings" doesn't elevate your spirit completely, have someone check your pulse! It probably isn't there...

Whenever I see or hear of a new CD that features "Traditional" Catholic Hymns, I ususally am very eager to see what is on the CD. In this instance, I am disappointed that there are only three (3) Traditional Catholic Hymns on this CD. "Jesus My Lord", "Come Holy Ghost", and "Immaculate Mary" are the only "Traditional" Catholic Hymns on this CD. So, the title is misleading. Also, the arrangements are somewhat "off the deep end" (trying overly hard to augment what are supposed to be rather calm and serene songs).

Fr. Stan does a wonderful job of keeping traditional Catholic hymns alive. I don't hear many of these songs as much as I used to at Mass. This is unfortunate since this has been a hidden foundation of good orthodox theology during a time of confusion. Teachers can introduce odd teachings but when we hear these songs, we hear the clear truth.
The recording quality is high and Fr. Stan has a wonderful voice. I almost feel as if I am back at my old parish back when churches looked like churches and had the acoustics to make a good singer sound like an angel.
Yet there is more to this recording. There is a modern tone through out the recordings. The mix of traditional and modern are done just as they should be with hymns, reverently. This is a great CD!! I hope Fr. Stan will come out with "More Traditional Catholic Hymns".
