5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful!
This book has black and white line drawings because it is a coloring book! I'm guessing the previous reviewer did not know that before purchasing. I think it was a wonderful book, showing a variety of houses from around the world with interesting information about each (there is text at the bottom of each page). 2.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected
I saw the cover and have seen similar books before. Interested in the topic for my kindergartener. Price looked attractive so ordered it. I am disappointed that it is not colorful inside. While the pictures are detailed, without colors, it is not easy to get kids interested.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very interesting coloring book, December 5, 2008
This review is from: Traditional Houses from Around the World (Paperback)
This 45 page coloring book is excellently illustrated and features almost every type of human dwelling from a house inside a Baobab Tree in Africa, to a pioneer log cabin.

I found the Turkish cave houses especially interesting as I had never known such housing existed before.

Each page features a very well drawn picture of the shelter and usually also the type of people who would be living there, along with some background and landscape. There is also a description underneath each picture about the housing and the area where it is located.

I colored many of these using block chalk applied with a QT tip, which made it quite easy to then use a non-bleed through colored marker to highlight details.

I would say this is a coloring book for adults--as there are many tiny details in each picture.

I saw that Amazon is no longer carrying this coloring book, but it can probably be obtained through the publisher, Dover, if one is interested.
