Although this is an older book, it is a good reference on the history of "Fair Isle" style knitting with insight into the origins of Aran and Faroe knitting as well. Beware, however, that it is the SAME book as the one titled Traditional Knitting of the British Isles by the same author. I wish I had known this before purchasing both books.

This is a beautifully written, researched and photographed book!

Wonderful old patterns from Ireland, Scotland and England are shown. Not only are the patterns written in easy to understand style, but the origins of the patterns are given as well.

This will become a treasured addition to any knitter's library!
