From the Manufacturer

About the Manufacturer:

For nearly forty years, we’ve been passionate about connecting people with plants and passing along the centuries-old wisdom of how to use them. So even though our packaging has changed, our aspirations remain the same: help you use plants to be healthy. Same great teas, same old us: devoted stewards of traditional herbal knowledge, practitioners of sustainable sourcing, meticulous judges of highest quality herbs, caring members of our communities, proud employee-owners of our independent company, herb nerds, and plant people who, without meaning to sound too hippie about it, feel like the plants are talking to us. We hope you will enjoy the fruits (or flowers, roots and leaves) of our labor.

Product Description

5.0 out of 5 stars Satisfies my coffee fix with benefits! September 2, 2009
Size Name:6 Pack
I have been using this product for about 6 months now. I am fighting Gall Bladder cancer, and was told not to drink coffee. The Dandelion Root Tea is a great alternative to coffee, for many reasons. No caffeine, it stimulates your liver, it really tastes a lot like coffee as well. I even have my boss hooked on it! He had to give up coffee for some health issues, and I let him try a bag, and now he drinks it daily! You have to brew it for 15 minutes to get all the flavor and benefits from it. I highly recommend it, it's good for you, and tastes enough like coffee to satisy your coffee craving.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it! June 7, 2010

I love this tea very much. It smells good and it tastes good. I drink a cup every morning before breakfast and before going to bed. It has helped me to get rid of a lot of excess water....I feel so much lighter and I have lost 10 lbs since I began drinking it a month ago. It's especially good for the liver and for the kidneys...it makes you pee a lot, which is very good. I recommend this tea to everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Roasted Dandelion Root Tea September 10, 2008
Size Name:6 Pack
This is definitely a tea that stands alone. This tea is from a bitter, cooling-type herb. Good for problems with digestion, this tea does whatever is necessary to get your GI system back in order. Do not steep too long and remove the tea bag. Sip slowly and enjoy the roasted flavor of this calming and detoxifying drink.

I love dandelion tea and this is one of the best! Helps with detoxifying the liver. I personally love the taste and pour it over ice with a splash of lemonade for iced tea during summer. Amazon has a great price. Will continue buying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great herbal tea! June 15, 2011
By powerop

Good for your liver. My past couple blood tests for my physicals were showing borderline elevated levels of liver enzymes and CRP, so I was in search for some natural cleansing remedies. I believe this tea helped me. I have not yet recieved another blood test to confirm, but I do feel more energy at work. Whether or not its psychological, it works in my favor. As for CRP levels, it was a sign of inflammation in the body and I knew exactly where the pain was (my hands and feet). I have also been drinking Moringa tea (also recommended) but as far as I know the painful inflammation is almost gone. Before the tea, I was using prescription anti-inflammatory painkillers but now have put a hold on the medicine since I am feeling better. Was it the tea? Maybe, but the good part is that I'm not relying on meds. Only time will tell, but for those in doubt, this is a tea very well worth the investment if you are looking for a natural remedy of sorts.

The taste and aroma is best described as nutty, kind of like roasted peanut brittle with hints of tahini or sesame. What I like about this tea is that the longer you let it brew the more robust the flavor and nutrients extracted. This way, I can just leave the tea bag in the kettle as I boil the water and also in my tea pot, unlike other teas like green tea which gets real bitter if you steep it too long.

UPDATE 3.29.2012 ***********
Since my first purchase, I have tried another brand, Alvita Tea Bags, Dandelion Root (Roasted), Caffeine Free, 30 tea bags (Pack of 3) and have found Traditional Medicinals better to my liking. It provides a more richer flavor and a smoother aftertaste in my experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great alternative to coffee! November 14, 2009
By Cat 7
Size Name:6 Pack|Amazon Verified Purchase
I love having a cup of Dandelion Root Tea to start my day. I have fibroid and needed to give up my coffee habit. This tea is slightly bitter but with a teaspoon of honey, it is nice and smooth. It is relaxing to sip on and ease into your day.

I do a routine of this tea for 3 to 4 weeks and then switch over to Red Raspberry tea. This routine plus some other natural remedies have resulted in decreased complications from my fibroid.

I am an Amazon Prime member and this item was delivered in 1 day.

5.0 out of 5 stars really nice July 2, 2010

I would definitely recommend any tea from Traditional Medicinals. Dandelion tea is a very nice, a bit bitter with a nice roast flavor. But be aware, you might spend the night in the restroom, it's kind of laxative. I think that's the reason it is recommended to those who suffer from hemorrhoids. If you already have regular bowel activity, it can be exhausting.
