5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!!, February 27, 2009

This review is from: Traditional Medicinals Organic Lemon Echinacea Throat Coat Herbal Tea, 16-Count Wrapped Tea Bags (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
When I get cold, I always get severe sore throat (normally lose my voice and bad coughing afterward). Same pattern everytime. I tried many cough drops, spray, etc. to erase the pain but those work for really short period of time only. This time, I tried this tea immediately when I felt my throat getting sore. Oh my goodness, it really worked! My throat felt much better just after one cup, and didn't get that severe pain like I normally do. I'm truly amazed. I'm not a big fan of the taste of this tea (I thought it's similar to Aveda tea), but it was well worth drinking.

5.0 out of 5 stars A singer's saving grace!, November 20, 2007
This review is from: Traditional Medicinals Organic Lemon Echinacea Throat Coat Herbal Tea, 16-Count Wrapped Tea Bags (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
I'm a choral singer and I rely on Throat Coat to keep me healthy and singing through the holiday season and beyond. I take it any time I feel a tickle coming on, and it's done wonders for me. I happen to love herbal tea, so I find the flavor quite pleasing. It's lightly sweet with a hint of cinnamon and lemon. The herbs really do make the back of your tongue tingle in a very pleasant way. I couldn't live without it!

My whole family loves the flavor and the soothing effects of this tea when we have colds or sore throats for any reason. It's naturally a little sweet, but honey may be added for additional effectiveness, especially in a dry climate like we have in Arizona--keep plenty on hand!

It was four hours till the gig, my chops were shot from a throat infection and I was the lead singer for the night. I shared my plight with the trumpet player and he told me about this "Throat Coat" tea that he heard of on some daytime variety show. A famous singer and Vegas headliner who was on the show mentioned this tea and how everyone in the biz used it. So I ran into the local health food on the way to the gig and picked up a box.
The bartender gave me a funny look when I asked for hot water instead of my usual 7&7. I could barely talk, but no kidding, the first song went without a hitch. It was like my voice was on auto pilot. I even hit high notes I sometimes struggle with. It was amazing. My head was still stuffy and woozy from the other meds I took and my ears were stopped up, but vocal wise I had a great night. I think I drank 4 cups that night.
The taste took a little getting used to. Its not bad and it is actually naturally sweet. It just tastes different from anything I've had before. I keep a handful in my gig bag everywhere I go and share with fellow singers without hesitation. I just bought a case on this site. I drank some at the gig last night as a matter of fact. I didn't NEED it, I just like it now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Throat Coat is a throat saver, June 3, 2010

I have a respiratory infection, my throat has been sore and I lost my voice. Drinking this tea has decreased the soreness of my throat, and my voice is slowly coming back. It works better and tastes better than the Yogi Throat Comfort. I will keep a box at home and work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Soothing Flavor for a Nightcap, May 12, 2008
This review is from: Traditional Medicinals Organic Lemon Echinacea Throat Coat Herbal Tea, 16-Count Wrapped Tea Bags (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
This is perhaps the most flavorful and refreshing tea I have had before calling it a night. The directions call for a 10-15 min soaking time and it truly does make a difference for the richness of the tea. The product is appropriately named "Throat Coat" as I have always found it a soothing experience whenever my throat is dry or irritating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Godsend, January 23, 2012
This review is from: Traditional Medicinals Organic Lemon Echinacea Throat Coat Herbal Tea, 16-Count Wrapped Tea Bags (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
You know how you get thirsty when you have a sore throat but it's much too painful to drink anything? This is the answer to that. Which makes it, in my opinion, nothing short of a godsend. It's extremely soothing -- feels like cotton candy going down your throat -- and the hydration probably helps you get over your illness faster. Not sure if this one really tastes that different from the original Throat Coat flavor, since the licorice taste in this one is very strong, too (which I love!)

GREAT. Best thing you can drink if you have a sore throat or a cold! Even if you don't like tea, I would still recommend it.
