I believe this book (with its accopanying 5 CD's)is a unique and most valualbe work regardign the traditional Persian music (music of Iran.) This publication presents the Radif of Miraza Abdullah with a clear notation. It's introduction by Manoochehr Sadeghi is superb. Accompanying CD's are outsanding instructional tools. Persian music traditionally has been passed through generations by oral means from master to student. Only within the past hundren years has this music been presented in notation to preserve this huge Persian heritage for future generations This publication with its CD set is a priceless tool for students of Persian music who are unable to learn this ancient and complex music from the masters of this art form. |
