The mala beads that I received are lightly engraved with buddhist symbols (like the wrist malas sold by Reorient). I did not expect this feature because it was not mentioned. The quality is excellent and better than mala beads that I considered buying at local yoga studios.

These Mala beads are VERY large, very beautiful and very sustantial. They distinctly smell of sandalwood. The beads I received were not individually carved. When i first opened them, the scent of sandal wood was overwhelming - almost medicinal, but, after talking with the vendor, I left them out of the plastic bag and now, the scent is just beautiful. I deliberated a long time about buying them and am sorry I waited so long.
