5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book for any fiddler, June 2, 2011
This review is from: Traditional Scottish Fiddling (Paperback)
This book is great. I have been playing from it for about 5 years, and while I have included more books in my collection, I find myself using this more often than any other. It includes details such as bowing techniques, regional variations of play and so on as a great introduction to the nuances of scottish fiddle that make it so unique and infectious, and the extra information gives you more than sheet music alone can do. 3 of the tunes I used in Scottish Fiddling competitions this year were included in this book. I would recommend this for anyone interested in Scottish Fiddle, as well as those interested in American, Canadian, Irish, etc - there is much to be gained from making this part of your collection, and is certainly the book to get if you are just getting into Scottish fiddling.
