5.0 out of 5 stars Great Multicultural Resource for the Elementary General Music Classroom, August 22, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Traditional Songs of Singing Cultures: A World Sampler (Paperback)
I purchased this book last year and have used many of the pieces out of it while teaching elementary general music. I LOVE teaching multicultural music, and this book is a treasure trove of wonderful pieces from all over the world for all grade levels. Each piece includes a map of where the piece originated from, as well as a description of the cultural significance and hints on teaching the piece to your students. The book includes a CD of a culture-bearer performing each piece in the book, which is great for getting accurate pronunciation for yourself and for sharing with the students. A great find!
