1.0 out of 5 stars a big disappointment, February 13, 2004
This review is from: Traffic (Audio CD)
I bought this cd-single expecting some quality trance. Instead, I got 17 minutes of boring techno.

The songs are:

1. Radio Edit (2:54)
2. Original Mix (7:01)
3. Max Walder Remix (7:34).

The song is based on a sample of "Psykofuk", a techno song released on the Detroit label, Matrix Records, in 1996. The cd comes in a slimline jewel case and was probably produced in Europe.

About the songs:

The Tiësto original mix consists of the bassline you can hear on most Tiësto remixes - which is nice - and a few synth notes repeated during the whole song. If the notes were good, the repetition would not be a problem (take Spiller's Groovejet for instance). But the notes are just plain boring.

The radio edit is under 3 minutes! I think it speaks by itself.

The Max Walder remix adds a very good bassline and some distortions in the repeated notes. This would be a good piece to throw in a set. This mix gets the only star. However, you are likely to get bored just after a few listenings.

This cd-single is very different from Tiësto's album, In My Memory, and his last remixes (DJ Cor Fijneman, Conjure One). Unless you are a fan of minimalistic techno, I would not recommend this single. There is much better out there, be it techno or trance.
