Unlike the previous reviewer, I actually have bought and listened to this album. It's a pretty good start - musically they're tight and the songs have a nice heavy feel. There's no doubt they're a metal band and proud of it. I doubt anybody listening for the first time would think three of the members are football players and not musicians first. There are weaknesses, mainly the vocals (not as strong as they could be and could use some personality) and some of the song structures feel a bit rough around the edges, but I can only imagine them getting better with time. Decent EP to begin with - I have high hopes for their first full album.

I recently bought Free Reign's new EP (Tragedy). I have to agree in large part with the review below (Gary). In large part, I think while their talent is still somewhat raw, they definitely have the potential to break from a small town thrash band to hitting the national stage. Musically the sound has good drive with a heavy metal core. Lyrically, the sound seems to struggle a bit with pace and intensity of other well known heavy metal thrash bands. However, vocally, the talent is there, but needs more development. Over all, I say it's a great start and look forward to their next release.

I have just downloaded this album after finding the band through twitter and myspace. Its a collaboration of (75) Marc Colombo (Vocals & Rhythm Guitar),(71)Cory Procter (Drums) and (70) Leonard Davis (Bass) of the Dallas Cowboys/Miami Dolphins (NFL) along with Justin Chapman (lead guitar). The debut 5 track album called Tragedy proves they are Heavier than Metal with its sound instantly. The tracks are very different showing more than one side to this quartet who have recently signed a record deal with Riot Entertainment from Australia. Hence the heading for this review "Touchdown Under". There is great potential here for this band and I wish them every success with their 2nd careers.Professional in Sports and Music the best two places to be. I can hear the Metallica influence and I can also hear a bit of Avenged Sevenfold in the drumming/rhythm. All the best guys I can't wait for your next disc.
