AFA is amazing,

Across Five Aprils the best emocore band ever. With "A Tragedy In Progress", AFA blend beautiful singing and great screaming with melodic yet brutal breakdowns. They are in a class by themselves. All eleven actual songs on this disc are in their own way a masterpiece. Just when you think the song will stay soft a heavy breakdown encompasses you. If you have never heard Across Five Aprils right now is the time to do so. Go pick up this emocore work of art.

BREAKDOWNS FOR ALL,
By
This review is from: Tragedy in Progress (Audio CD)
This album is simply amazing, just how AFA blends catchy riffs, melodic singing/screaming, and then throws in a blazing breakdown to finish things off. Sometimes the breakdown lasts pretty much the whole song and that has got to be some major work for their very talented drummer. If you like good singing/screaming in your music and love to mosh even when your not at a concert this album is for you...

What metalcore should be.,

This is an ascension of metalcore, hardcore and death metal in a perfect unification. Every song has been perfectly crafted on this album. Steve Taylor shows his great vocal range from hitting black metal style notes to soft melodic notes. The riffs stab your ears with a musical mathmatical timed chaos. Anyone into haste the day, my chemical romance & demon hunter will most definitely call Across Five Aprils their new weapon of choice. I cannot tell you how much this album is a must have for any metalcore fan.

Pretty Good,
This review is from: Tragedy in Progress (Audio CD)
The only problem that I have with this album is how typical that it is. It's jusy VERY typical melodic hardcore. That's not to say that it isn't well done... because it is very well done. I saw them live recently and they did a very good job!

Beautiful Hardcore!!!,

I just got this cd today and I wish I hadn't waited!!! This band is played sometimes on the radio station I listen to...I'm close to where these guys live. This band beautifully blends the screaming and the melodic vocals. I'm not much into the emocore(or whatever you wanna call it)...but this cd is awesome. I have Underoath's "The Changing of Times" and that cd can't hold a candle to this one. Just how everything comes together just kicks my butt every listen. Drew(drummer) seriously gets a workout, he does an awesome job!
The only thing that sucks is the lead singer Steve is no longer part of the band.

If you are like myself and don't enjoy pure-screaming bands but do enjoy occasional screams, this is the album for you. AFA beautifully brings melody from the emotional point and breaks down with hardcore screams blended perfectly together. A must buy for any emocore lover.
