5.0 out of 5 stars A hidden gem....
I have always considered Orange 9mm "my band", since few others have yet to stumble upon them. I did just that, though, through my record club, when I purchased "Driver Not Included". 3.0 out of 5 stars What could have been...
What could have been is the story of this band. While their first full length album (Driver Not Included) was one of the best hardcore albums ever made, this one fails mainly due to the expecations created by their first album and amazing live shows in the 96-97 era.

Im not sure what caused the falling out between members, but the guitarist and bassist from...

5.0 out of 5 stars A hidden gem...., August 30, 1999

I have always considered Orange 9mm "my band", since few others have yet to stumble upon them. I did just that, though, through my record club, when I purchased "Driver Not Included". However, where that album was nonstop heaviness, this title spans out in numerous directions, always maintaining butt-movin', head-bangin' energy! Anyone who enjoys the "rap-metal" bands that are all the rage currently should stop at nothing to buy "Tragic". Chaka Malik knows how to do more then scream, and the production is near flawless on the disc. They put more popular bands to shame, much to the pleasure of their loyal fanbase. In short, anyone into the heavy stuff should go out and buy Orange 9mm's standout. They know how to do this kind of music the RIGHT way. Limp Bizkit my ass. - Mordeccai

5.0 out of 5 stars Shootout music!, April 19, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Tragic (Audio CD)
This album is killer to say the least, back before "bands" like linkin park and limp biskit started exploiting, milking and driving rap-rock into the ground....this forgotten group among a few other outfits really helped build the sound in the first place. Tragic is a great cd, alot of raw energy, great guitars and catchy lyrics. They really get you pumped up! Try the title track or "fire in the hole". Awesome stuff. Too bad the band broke up....in early 2000 i beleive. But i still enjoy the music they released. If you need an album to listen to while in your room playing max payne or Halo this'll go just fine!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Very Good, October 20, 2001
This review is from: Tragic (Audio CD)
I really like these guys. It is One of the best of the "unknown" bands out there. I heard these guys on a web page and really liked them, so what the hell, I bought the C.D. and I was amazed at how good these guys were. I love this C.D. and I have to give it the seal.

5.0 out of 5 stars VIRTUALLY UNHEARD OF, August 29, 2000
This review is from: Tragic (Audio CD)
orange 9mm has been around for a while now and not too manypeople have heard them despite the fact that theyre a great band.they blend elements of punk, hip hop,and rock while always maintaining a phat groove.if you havent heard them you should definately look into them for good underground rock.the whole album is good but my favorite tracks are fire in the hole, gun to your head, dead in the water, take you away, and failure.and if you like this cd then without a doubt go pick up "pretend im human" which is an awesome record with a rappier vibe to it and is the best release from orange 9mm in my opinion.oh well-later

A unique and powerful band which works well cruising around the city with the windows down or flying down the freeway. Many really good songs, you can't lose.

this is a great cd filled with catchy songs and riffs. this is a must buy cd for people who like to listen to music with with a heavy edge and rap beat. they have potential to make it big with songs like dead in the water, failure, kiss it goodbye and many others.

5.0 out of 5 stars WHERE DID THESE GUYS COME FROM!!!!, September 20, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Tragic (Audio CD)
I FIRST HEARD THESE GUYS ON THE ESCAPE FROM L.A. SOUNDTRACK. I SURE WISH I'D HEARD THEM EARLIER!!! THIS IS QUITE POSSIBLY THE MOST TALENTED LITTLE KNOWN OF BAND IN AMERICA TODAY. THEIR SONGS FLOW FROM VISCIOUS METAL TO ALMOST ALTERNATIVE. THESE GUYS ARE FIXING TO BREAK OUT. THERE SONGS STICK IN YOUR HEAD TOO, UNLIKE SOME METAL BANDS. I GIVE THIS ALBUM AND THIS BAND 8 THUMBS UP.

4.0 out of 5 stars Don't even read the last review., October 10, 2001
This review is from: Tragic (Audio CD)
The person who wrote the last review lumping this album in with the mall metal crap that exists now doesn't know what they are talking about. If anything limp bizkit and associates owe Orange 9mm a huge debt for showing them how to do it right. This album is not a rap/metal album. It is aggressive and loud, but it doesn't fit neatly into some category like some would like it to. Buy it and hear a band throwing it down better than anything thats out now.

3.0 out of 5 stars What could have been..., January 18, 2006
This review is from: Tragic (Audio CD)
What could have been is the story of this band. While their first full length album (Driver Not Included) was one of the best hardcore albums ever made, this one fails mainly due to the expecations created by their first album and amazing live shows in the 96-97 era.

Im not sure what caused the falling out between members, but the guitarist and bassist from the original lineup were not present touring for this album, and i wonder how much they had to do with recording most of this album. The first two tracks sound like songs from DNI, but after that the music goes south. Frankly the first two tracks are the only ones i ever go back and jam.

Its really dissapointing they had some sort of inner turmoil, because Driver Not Included was such a mammoth of an offering. I suggest anyone that is looking at this album that doesnt have DNI, go check that one out first. Youll find the two albums are so drastically different in quality its almost like listening to two different bands.

TTT for anyone who knows why the original members split. Their replacements frankly stunk....

THis band really didnt make a name for themself, and i bet that this album really didnt sell that well, but i bet that everyone who actually got it, was very glad they did. Very creative, original sort of. If you like (hed)pe or finger 11, check these guys out.
