This review is from: Trail of Conflict (Kindle Edition)
I have loved Emilie Loring's books ever since I discovered them on my grandmother's bookshelves years ago. So I was thrilled to find this title available for Kindle. These are old fashioned romances, where the heroes are men but the heroines are girls, where the characters lead gracious, servant-filled lives, and where people stop for tea every afternoon and dress for dinner every night--even on a remote ranch in Wyoming. I love the vivid descriptions of nature--Ms. Loring could paint pictures with her words--and I love that her characters are always full of ideals, concerned with moral obligations and civic duties, and they discuss current events and philosophize about contemporary issues. These are the ultimate sweet romances, with never more than a kiss between hero and heroine, but they always revolve around a mystery complete with lots of intrigue and dangerous situations for the hero and heroine. I hope the publisher will eventually translate all Ms. Loring's romances to Kindle because for me, they have lost none of their charm.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nostalgia, April 12, 2011

I periodically searched the Kindle for Emilie Loring, and was thrilled to finally see one. These were the romances I grew up with. They shaped my thinking about honor, fidelity, patriotism, etc. I so hope that all of the Emilie Loring's will become available.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love all of Emilie Loring's Books, August 10, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have all of her books in paper back and ~10 first edition hard cover books. My mom starting reading them when she was young and then I started reading them. I am 29 now, but have been reading and re-reading these books since I was a teenager (like my mom). I periodically check Kindle books to see if any are there any available. I was soooo excited to see this one.

In this book, Jerry Glamorgan (short for Geraldine) marries Stephen Courtlandt because Jerry's father wants his daughter to marry into a family with history and he owns all the debt of Steve's family. The two agree to a loveless marriage to make their father's happy. Soon after this Steve's uncle dies and in his will he leaves his ranch to Steve and Jerry on the condition that they both move there for 1 year and Jerry gives up her father's money. They go and sinister things start happening on the ranch. To muddy up the water's even worse, Jerry's one time fiance owns the ranch next to theirs and has a house guest that is Steve's one time love interest.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excited to see Emilie Loring for Kindle, December 27, 2011
Finally!! I read most of Emilie Loring's books as a young adult and am thrilled to see the first one available for Kindle. Loring writes tender, clean romances - a nostalgic comfort read for me. Like other reviewers have said, I hope the publisher will continue with Loring's books.
