Grade 3-6 A superb marriage of stunningly sharp color photographs and descriptive text that depicts the life cycle of the red fox. Glimpses of new-born pups reveal several small pink mouths and dark brown fur wrapped within the watchful vixens' encircling, protective body. Later photos show small canine teeth and the blue eyes that will later turn to a honey color in the adult. It's better by far than either Eberle's Foxes Live Here (Doubleday, 1966; o.p.) or Hess' Foxes in the Woodland (Scribners, 1966; o.p.) in both information and illustrations. A introduction to the way of foxes,

The book may be interesting both to long-time fox lovers and to thoseonly beginging to like them. The book talks about how the fox kits are raised, breeding,how they mark there territories and other types of comunication used by foxes. The book uses color photos and words to teach children about foxes.
