I purchased these training wheels for my daughters 20" Schwinn bike.

The bolt that is supposed go thru the bike wheel to connect the training wheels together is too short. When I contacted BikepartsUSA where I purchased them thru Amazon.com, this is the email that I received...........................

"I am sorry that the training wheels do not fit but it is not our fault that your bikes axel is not long enough. I am also sorry to inform you that the restocking fee will still be induced because that was not a fault of ours that the wheels did not fit. To return though you do not need a RA number anymore that is our old policy just ship the training wheels back to the address below".

They advertise this product to fit a 20" bike and it does not. Now I have to pay a 15% restocking fee.

I would be careful if you do business with this company.

These training wheels would not tighten enough to stay upright. They kept angling backward. Also, the wheels are adjustable up and down, which I liked at first, but as my son rode along, they would slide up so he would just fall over as he is not ready to have them up that high yet. I've had 3 different people tighten them as tight as possible and they still slide up when he rides. Also, the rubber on the wheels has begun to peel off. We've only had them for a few weeks. Very disappointed.

The training wheels are good quality, they come with two sets of nuts and knobs for different threads on the hub. One could just buy the knobs and use the training wheels that come with just about any child's bicycle. The biggest issue is that these wheels are made to fit a varitey of sizes of child's bike. But as a result, they conflict with the typical chain guard on many medium and small childeren's bikes. I cut a notch in the chain guard to accommodate it, but not everyone will feel so resourcefull.

I received the product in a box that had obviously been opened and used by another customer. That did not bother me to much but what did become an issue is I am unable to get the hand knobs that attach the wheel arms to the bike axle to go on tight enough to hold the arms in place. The issue is the knob has a bolt inside of it and either there is a portion of the knob that inhibits the axle from going through or there is something up with the bolt within the knob. I am thinking about either drilling out the knob or maybe re-threading the bolt within the knob in an effort to make it work. Either case the quality seems to be substandard.

I think the have a good idea but they need to pay attention to quality more.

Easy to install. Had to make modification to plastic cover over chain on bike. Bike originally had training wheels on it when purchased for my older child. Didn't get much use out of them as apparently someone too large for the bike sat on it in the store and bent the training wheel bracket. Kept bending, so tossed them. Now that my younger child needed training wheels, I remembered seeing these. As I said, I had to cut away part of the plastic housing around the rear sprocket to accommodate the training wheels, but it was minor and quick. Unlike the original wheels, which were all plastic, these do have rubber "tires". They are a much smoother ride, and seem more sturdy. The flip up came in handy for transporting in the back of the minivan, and I'm sure will be handy when my child's confidence level is up.

I would highly recommend this product.

THIS PRODUCT did not fit a 20" bike. The axle bolts are not long enough on most bikes. They claim it will fit. It does not. I should have read other reviews. Now have found many with same problem. I could not get a refund. THERE IS NO MENTION OF IT BEING A PROBLEM WHEN THE AXLE BOLTS ARE TO SHORT. I CHECKED SEVERAL OTHER BIKES FOUND NONE THIS WOULD FIT ON.

We really had a good time with it for a couple of days; then it started to bend over to one side and we never were able to fix it. Then our 5 years old started doing longer runs by herself and unhooked everything.

I had to purchase a different bike (exchanged it at the store and paid for an upgrade) instead of the Huffy I purchased because it does not fit Huffy. It is shoddy and a waste of money. Just buy the 12.00 training wheels at the store. It is not worth it!!! Pisssss: it does not fit many bikes it is too thick for the short bolts.
